Installed Omega V36 (Sam version) with Siyah 1.8.6 Kernel yesterday and I have to say, my battery life has improved quite a lot so far. Used to last 12-14 hours with minimum use, haven't checked how long the battery lasts now but it seems to last longer as it has been on for around 7 hours and I still have 70% left.

Same here, however I am still on V35 of Omega. Any big improvements in V36?
Anyone know if there is a working CIFS module available for 4.1.2? Found 2 (JB & Nexus port) that didn't work at all so can't get my phone to mount my network shares.
Alternatively is there a 4.1.2 ROM out there with native CIFS support?

I'm on Omega V34. I'm getting at least 2 days with a charge. I don't think V36 will bring much improvement to that. I'm very happy with V34. Will check out the changelog tomorrow.
This is my first Omega installation, so I have no clue if there are any improvements(There are obviously but I can't make them out), though it is the final release of 4.1.2 iirc
Decided to try the CyanogenMod route for the first time, and all I can say is WOW! Works better than the first day I bought it. Flashed CM10.1 and loving the new Android 4.2.1.
Installed in no time flat, all of my old apps downloaded automatically onto the phone as I wiped the whole thing (intentionally). I'd definitely recommend it if you have CWM Recovery flashed...

Considering doing the same. What are the manor bugs with CM10.1 and is there a form of smart stay?
Bluetooth audio issues and a few really minor things that I can't remember off the bat. No smart stay as far as I can tell but to be honest that worked 1/10 times for me before this version so I'm not at all bothered by the lack thereof...

There is an app in the store that emulates Smart Stay but not as good.
I used to be a big CM fan, but stick to Sammy based ones now as I am hooked on all the little features.

It seems that I can also get on with my chrome browser, but the default one doesn't give me al the fields to be able to complete the form. Which browser did you use?

NFC - but there is a fix on the CM10.1 thread on XDA
Stock Camera - I use Camera Zoom FX
Multi Window - This is a Samsung feature and has not been implemented in other ROM's
Chrome Browser - I use Dolphin anyway
Other than those which don't affect me in the slightest, I'm happy using CM10.1 as my daily ROM.

No Chrome? That's a bummer as I like the sync with desktop functionality.
Also need the stock camera for portal submissions on Ingress.

It does come with a camera - no idea if it is stock or an app, but it's labeled as camera. It is quite a shift from the original JB camera that I'm accustomed to though. Still not sure if I like it or hate it. Will have to use it a bit more to find out...
Omega(Samsung based version) came with 2 camera apps, Samsung's camera and the stock camera which is released with default Android, Samsung customized theirs a lot, which is why you might find it different. I prefer the Samsung camera.
