I think I'm going to use Triangle Away and go back to stock. Omega's last few releases have been a bit crap, and I can't think of anything I do on my phone that requires root. All I'll miss is the cool CRT-Off effect and the bloat might use a bit more RAM. MyBackup Pro handles my backups and it doesn't need root. And if something terrible happens to my phone I can just walk into Cellucity with it as is...
I'm on stock 4.1.2 with Chainfire's simple root. You don't need to sacrifice root if you go back to stock.
Is it even worth it though? I think I'd rather just have the proper stock and enjoy a warranty.
I've not really found much I need to do on my S3 that required me to root it.

Besides, the time it takes tinkering around is hard to justify. I'd love to fiddle more, but I keep that limited to PCs at the moment. Customising all my gadgets would leave me no time to use them!
I rooted as soon as I got my S3 because I enjoyed fiddling around with my S2 and Note and loading ROMs left right and centre. So when I got the S3, it was the natural thing to do.
If only for backing up with Titanium and using a decent file manager (I use Solid), then it's more than worth it for me. And although I've been half planning to put CM10.1 on it, I'll probably flash to stock 4.2 when it comes using Mobile Odin.
Reversing CFs simple root is so easy now anyway. It's not like looking through lists of codes and stuff anymore. So for me there's more reasons to root than not to and that's without even thinking of a custom ROM.

Bang on the money.
Since getting the S3 - and now Note 2 - I seldom flash custom ROM's, but I rooted within hours of getting the devices.
If you have a fault, remove root before sending it in. If the device is so badly damaged that you cannot unroot, well they won't know either
Probably been asked before but does Rooting stock mean no more official OTA updates? I am on 4.1.1 would like to get the official OTA update for SA when it comes... I know I would need to re-root afterwards.
I've never had an OTA update on any of my Android phones so I don't know, but I wouldn't imagine so. But hey, DIY my friend, 4.1.2 is waiting for you for a few weeks already

...and he can get 4.1.2 without rooting. I have loaded the official UK unbranded version onto my phone using ODIN. As far as I understand I would still get OTA updates this way but I usually use ODIN again as soon the next official version is released.
The main reason I tend to root is to use a firewall - save a lot of 3G data that way. O, also to install ad blockers.
