Does anyone have issues when LTE is enabled? My S5 couldn't hold a call until I forced it to 3G only...
Nope. Might be the signal and not the phone. Remember LTE does not support voice, so it basically has to do a voice over IP call.

Well since forcing my settings, it's been faultless. Prior to that, it would drop a call immediately after answering, or it would just give me missed calls...

Yea, Only place I could help you to test it is work but that would be pointless as the tower is about 200 meters from my office.

Ah well, No LTE isn't an issue for me... 90% of the time I'm connected to an AP. Going to play around with different ROMs anyway ;)

From where?
Will it remove the vodabloat as well?
Is my warranty still 100% in tact?

:)
Yes, just make sure you get a firmware that is not network linked. I could not find a SA specific neutral firmware either. I think I am running a Polish or NZ or UK firmware right now. And apparently your warranty is void. See below...

Do it from Sammobile. It will remove the vodabloat and warranty 100% intact. Did it with my Note 3 when Kitkat came out. When I handed my phone to someone else in the family I put back the SA version just so the auto updates are back wrt the OS.
I had a chat with Samsung SA on chat looking for a neutral firmware for SA. I said I want to flash it with Odin. The guy told me if I do that my warranty will be void. We had a long chat and I made it clear that I don't want to root, but that I only want to install official firmware - still the answer was that the warranty will be void.

And you think they'll be able to tell if you send it in for a repair or whatever?

You give them way to much credit. I know someone in here has done an ADH claim with an "altered" device. Might be a Note 3.

How exactly does rooting and custom software contribute to me dropping my phone or spilling my drink on it?

I would be irate if they refused an adh repair on those grounds.

I am not addressing their skill or integrity, I am relaying what I was told. As you know, I don't care because I rooted my phone a couple hours out of the box. But it is wrong telling people that all is fine in Sammy-ville after flashing official firmware with Odin of it is not the case - should they decide not to honour the warranty, will you take responsibility for it? But this is one of those "use it, don't use it" scenarios. I posted my experience to inform others. They are still free to take the chance.

That is my argument too. I think it is stupid! But you might get hardware failures from over clocking or over/under volting your device. I am sure Samsung has a plethora of reasons in their store room.

I reckon I should start looking at a Gear S or Gear 2 watch.

Really love my Galaxy S5 and keen to get more accessories for it. :)
