I'm sorry, but I don't think the Z2's screen is up to scratch yet. The videos I've seen looks terrible, and they say that its a lot better than the Z1. The Z1 must be useless then.

Edit: Also not sure what this 'bloated OS' is everyone is talking about. I feel the S5's version of Touchwiz has a lot less bloat in it. No useless apps.

So just got my black S5 today from autopage. Fingerprint scanner is awesome though tricky. The sound quality is awful though. I played music with my s2 next it playing on full volume and it out performed the s5 by far. Overall I feel like my lack of excitement for this phone is justified especially coming from the S2. BTW how do i tell if i have the LTE one? My model is the SM-G900H

Are you sure?

They do some pretty rigorous audio quality testing...

The Samsung Galaxy S5 audio output is certainly among the cleanest we have ever seen a smartphone produce. Posting excellent scores top to bottom in the first part of our test, the Samsung flagship only let its stereo crosstalk spike a bit in the second one. That's some of the most accurate audio reproduction you can find on the market and one that should be good enough for even the most demanding audiophiles.
On the other hand volume levels, while good, are not quite among the best we've encountered. The Samsung Galaxy S5 is still going to be loud enough for the majority of users, but the HTC One (M8) holds a lead in that department.

Unless when you say "sound quality" you mean "loudness"... ;)
I use my S5 with a pair of Shure SE215 and sound quality is superb.

I have an Xperia S. My sister and her husband each have a Z1. BIL's Z1 has a cracked screen, it fell out of his pocket while he was sitting on some bricks, a full 5cm drop).

5cm? Wow, awesome build quality that. At least they have ADH to fall back on... Oh wait

Its the main reason I am 100% happy with deciding on an s5. Drop tests, driven over and ADH.

The OnePlus One is the best phone because it matches the specs of the popular flagships, has the best user interface and costs a fraction of the price. It scores huge points for the insane price.

The Z2 is my runner up because it has the best specs of any phone, is waterproof, doesn't have a bloated OS and looks outstanding.

'Best user interface' and 'looks outstanding' are subjective. Cost has nothing to do with whether it's a better phone or not - just changes the value proposition. S5 is also waterproof for all intents and purposes.

You said there are "better phones" when it seems you meant "I prefer other phones". Which is fine, of course. But it's not the same as asserting they're better, objectively.

I am still very interested in both the one plus one as well as the Z2 but in South Africa there really is no better flagship option out there than the S5 at present.

I tend to agree (ADH is a HUGE advantage), well, that is until the S5 Prime arrives? :p

Won't be long until HTC one M8 is here.

If the only difference is build quality and screen resolution, then I won't be too disappointed.

Looking forward to the Note 4 who they say will have a new form factor.
