Does anyone know what android media server is? It is killing my battery on this thing. I used to get 1 d 9 or 10 hours off it and now 11 hours is a stretch. Anyone having the same problem?

Serves you media , catalogs your media etc

Settings, more networks, mobile networks, network mode.

Put it on wcdma/gsm.

Yip, WCDMA is 3G networks while GSM only offers GPRS / EDGE.

Just put it in power saving mode

Also, check my battery life in last screenshot and compare it to my last screenshot in the android screenshots thread.

That is with blue tooth, wifi, location etc all on.

People buy smartphones and dumb them down to essentially calculators... just to increase battery life from 1 day to 2.

Not really, he may have wifi the whole day. So it may save battery switching it to GSM
