Samsung Galaxy S5

Not really, he may have wifi the whole day. So it may save battery switching it to GSM

If you're on WiFi, your phone won't be sending data over a WCDMA or LTE connection, so it should have hardly any impact on battery life.

Fair point too. It may chow a little extra though. Anyone wanna test?

Don't think I could. Wifi at work and home. Edge at home is on the far edge of a tower so seriously sucky.

Me too. I do know that having poor signal also CHOWS the battery. Any theory why 3g uses more battery than 2g? Just out of interest? Havent researched...

Uses more energy because it has to move more bits than over 2g.

Currently for me the most frustrating thing about the S5 is that because it is so new there are not that many real results when doing searches on google.

All reviews and news.

Hi,

I bought a 2nd hand S5, it is from Vodacom.

I want to know, I am on MTN. How can I get rid of the Vodacom boot up screen and shutdown screen?
I already disabled all the Vodacom apps etc.

Root it and lose ADH+warranty.

How do I register for the ADH ?

I was hoping I don't have to root. I will just stick with the Vodacom logos.
