^^ HSDPA

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-Speed_Downlink_Packet_Access
High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) is an enhanced 3G (third-generation) mobile-telephony communications protocol in the High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) family, also dubbed 3.5G, 3G+, or Turbo 3G, which allows networks based on Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) to have higher data-transfer speeds and capacity. As of 2013 HSDPA deployments can support down-link speeds of up to 42.3 Mbit/s. HSPA+ offers further speed increases, providing speeds of up to 337.5 Mbit/s with Release 11 of the 3GPP standards.[1]

Yes. My daughter sent me a few captures while on Lte.

I'm not in an Lte area, so can't test for my self.
We got the phones from a MTN shop at the same time.

Has anyone gotten rid of the VDC splash when the phone boots up? What is the easy way?

I am considering getting other firmware to get rid of it

Flashing other firmware is the easiest. Don't have to root phone either. And you can always comeback later to the original if you so wish.

Just double check your Network mode is on LTE/WCDMA/GSM
