I didn't think I would enjoy this phone as much coming from the Note 3, but I really enjoy the smaller design, build quality, camera and overall clean up of the OS. I do miss the S-Pen functionality. Only gripe was battery life, but that's been sorted.

Now I must just get a case for this phone, but not something that will hide the overall design.

I'm glad the factory reset helped fix your battery problems :D

When your ready to root, there's some custom Roms out there which give phenomenal battery life.
I posted some screenshots a few posts back ;)
 
Samsung Rewards paid off today, grabbed a pair of Samsung Level On-Ear Headphones worth R1999.

The finger print scanner works better than before IMO. It's faster and I have less misses. You just need to be on the latest bootloader if you want your finger print reader to work.
If your on the latest vodacom firmware then no need to worry about the bootloader or modem.

I did it. :D

Installed TWRP custom recovery, downloaded Xtralite 2.0 and installing right now. So happy to be rooted again... Missed Xposed so much! :D
 
Gboss, if you could post or PM me that extended init.d script, I'll buy you a beer next time I'm in durbs. :)

Oh man, just having Xposed back was worth it. Immersive mode, volume keys to skip tracks, custom status bars, root apps... etc.

So surprised I lasted 6 months without rooting. My record was 3 weeks prior to getting the S6. So it's a testament to the latest iteration of TW I guess. :)

I'm not at home now and I'm using a loaner S6 while mine is in for repairs. I will send you the file when i get home . Just copy it to /etc/init.d folder using a root Explorer of your choice. Set permissions to 0755 and reboot

My S6 lasted 10 days then it was rooted and had a custom ROM. Here's the links to init.d scripts, 1 is a lite version and the extended is a more aggressive/extended trimming of Play Services.

Don't use both at the same time though. I have always used the extended script and I didn't have any issues with my notifications or anything. If you use google fit use the standard script then.

Please help me I hate my S6 is slow it's leggy it's battery life is pathetic I'm getting a note 5

Tell me what the best root option will be for this old dead horse?

Proper noob friendly docs will be so appreciated!!

There's only 3 different Roms I always find myself using there's the one I linked you to, Crash and Weta. ExtrStoLite is one is nicely debloated but the aroma add on allows you to restore those Samsung and Google apps you wish back.
If you go up a level to Android development there's tons of others if you want to try some others. Personally I'd advise starting with ExtrStoLite then giving all the Roms a run :) because really there is no "best rom " just whichever rom suits you best.
