So whose the greatest at Android ?

S6 Edge (SM-G925F) running 6.0.1

How do I set the date to appear on the top of the screen (like the time and battery status thats always there). I would like the date too. Handy for proving when a screenshot was taken.
Is there a setting Im missing on a sub-menu? Not looking to root the device. Ideas?
Take your pick

Any Vodacom customers with a Galaxy S6 want to check for a firmware update, you might find a much anticipated feature waiting for you.

Open the Phone app - More - Settings and scroll all the way to the bottom.

Do you see something new?
Oh. Come on. I've been running BTU firmware on my phone for the last 7 months and love the monthly updates. Please don't make me reinstall Vodacom software just to find out what the new feature is... .

Wifi calling, set to off by default.

Ok ok, so I set it to on. What now? How does this help? Free roaming calls? Calls over wifi if there's no GSM signal around?

OK; enabled mine as well; any ideas on how to test this; how do we know if a call is breaking out of wifi or cell network?

Currently it doesn't seem to actually do anything. When you enable Flight mode and then re-enable your Wifi only, that should be the ideal conditions to force the phone to switch over to wifi calling right? When I try that, it just says "Flight mode on. Turn Flight mode off to make calls".

This page from Cell C claims that one should see a 'wifi calling icon' if the service is correctly activated and being used, but on my (Vodacom) S6 no such icon appears even with that little checkbox ticked. Anybody get this to work?

Edit: Tried the same thing with sms, it also just gets saved to the outbox rather than sending over wifi.

Some googling turned up this advice from a UK-based carrier:

Once you’ve turned WiFi Calling on, we'll activate it for you within 24 hours.

You’ll receive a confirmation text when WiFi Calling has been activated. (If you are a corporate customer, you will not receive this message, as you’ll already be set up and ready to go).

You'll see a new icon at the top of your screen next to the WiFi symbol.

You'll then be ready to make and receive calls and text over WiFi.

If the same holds true in South Africa, maybe we just need to wait for 24 hours and see if we get a magic confirmation sms.

Just got a s6 edge. How do you register for adh ?

Find the ADH icon (should've come pre-loaded on your device, if bought new), tap it and follow the instructions to register.
Best way to find it is to hit the "Apps" icon and look through the alphabetical list of apps for the "ADH" icon (blue shield, white lettering).
Failing that, you can find and download it in the Google Play apps store as "Samsung ADH Premium".
