It needs cooperation from the banks, until they decide to allow it, it won't happen.
 
Oh man dropped my S8 and Friday getting out of the car and the screen is now cracked :(

Any idea what the repair cost is? I'm thinking of just selling it for R3k - R4k and getting a note 8.

My screen replacement cost R5200 at Samsung.
 
I grew tired of waiting.
Flashed this morning with Odin.
All working great rather easy actually.
 
Also pretty tired of waiting for the firmware now.

Question though... Does root exist for Oreo? Are there any negative side effects to rooting an S8? I've only ever rooted HTCs and Motorolas before this, and the Knox issue worries me.

Okay, thanks. Found it. Will take about 3 hours to download, then buildup the courage to do the actual install. How long did it take to do the upgrade/install?
 
@Dylan - these are official firmware files, no root required.
@magandriod - about 10 min.
 
@Ciferion, is there any downside to flashing my S8 with this non-carrier specific firmware instead of waiting for the official Vodacom firmware? Will it change anything that'll void the warranty on the device? It's obviously intended for a different country. Would I still be able to flash it with the proper one when Vodacom do release it?
