The reason I'm asking is because I see that they state that you need to pay R1000 per smc front glass claim and R300 per smc rear glass claim.
Which sucks but is still better than no cover I guess.

Also if the device falls and the front and rear glass breaks in a single event would it mean your cover will be finished as it would be 2 claims righ?

I never check that though,but I looked as it like this you basically get 30 days from the time you purchase it if you want it or not....then they charge you 1300 if you take it...you pay then if the glass cracks you going to pay a shop 2000+(that's excluding a new battery)once over here you getting both for 3200,plus two new batteries and don't have to worry about it being a replica as Samsung honours it

My Bixby torch shortcut still works after the update
 
Just picked up my maple gold s8 from vadocrap. It has been branded . I got the wireless charger and back cover and 2 front covers. I put the front on but I got it a bit skew. Is there a way to upgrade the firmware to clear the vodacrap on the phone? I am a bit hesitant to flash. I bricked my s1 way back! Lol

I am still exploring my new phone. Enjoying it! Any nuggets of information on cool features of the s8?

You can install a firmware from sammobile. Personally I'll wait until a 7.1 firmware gets released. In the mean time, just install a theme, then its only the boot animation you have to deal with...
 
How do you set your S8+ to automatically switch to power save mode at a certain point? For example if it reaches 10%.

Yeah my S8 was branded Vodacom all over. Sigh. It's not that bad though but yeah never had that with Cellc or MTN before.

sounds like the one we got on vodacom, but that was only like 250mb give or take
 
So, besides chats about battery life and screen covers, what is the general consensus about the phone? Is it as amazeballs as the reviews make out?
 
The only way I can tell my phone is from Telkom is a small app called "TelkomSA Menu" that is used to enable international roaming. Everything else is stock Samsung. Might even be worth it for the Vodacom guys to flash the Telkom firmware if the branding is an issue.

My firmware is currently XFA_0075 (it's not on Sam Mobile yet).
