Got mine earlier today as well.
Went for the normal S8. Grey not in yet so settled for the black. Couldn't be bothered by a color anyway.

Hope everyone is happy with theirs and that no house or car is burned down overnight.

I'm using face recognition while waiting for sim swap and downloading updates. Works very quick (thought it wasn't locking).

Also, registered middle finger for scanner. Seems easier than forefinger.

Does glasses/contacts impact iris scanner?

yes i remember seeing something in this regard.

The fingerprint sensor isn't really slow, it's just to get it to register... once it does, i can do like 10 in a row, no problem, but if you lock, and quickly want to unlock again... bummer.
 
So the Samsung has a really strong screen, but a really weak back?

Quite bad that the back will crack from such a low drop...

Get a Glass protector for the back as well. :) oh those with the S8, whats the camera like in low light conditions?

Seems so, but it should be "cheap" to replace, the inner components seem to handle being dropped fine.
It probably landed on a small rock there. For daily use, S8 is fine to use, with a cover it should be as/if not more durable than an iPhone 7.
