I've got an S7 with gear S2 and the alarm goes off in vibrate mode, as well as the watch vibrating

As expected. Despite all the hype, it's just a phone. A very pretty phone, but nothing in there that'll inspire casual posters to come write a passionate book about it here.

People that were at the press soft launch are still raving about it. Curious how it compares to the i7 :p and the V20

The i7 sucks, obviously. The V20 is a great phone, but the S7edge is better. But both had their strong points.

I'll probably just end up doing a review of the stuff that's new/different from the S7 and V20, because I mean, it's still just android ;) :D

Those days are long gone with possibly the Note 3 or Note 4, those were the was the last phones that truly had Power Users gobsmacked, IMO. Although I must say, for me, as much as I am passionate about these glass slabs, nothing got me like the old Nokia Symbians.

I remember when my Dad got the Nokia E90 Communicator, THAT was truly an incredible device and it stayed that way for a solid 4years, he had iPhones along side it year after year, but it didn't leave his side until my younger brother lost it at a damn Spur when he took it to play games.
 
Got my S8 through MTN yesterday - R679 p/m 100 mins, 100sms, 2GB data.
Seemed like a good deal.
Loving the phone! Got the Orchid Gray.

Took the same deal. Same colour too.

What was the process you went through?

I went to the store, signed for a new contract, got the sms saying its gone for approval on the same day and today (3 days later) received an sms for conditional approval and to wait for a call from the dealer.

That actually sounds pretty good...the 2GB data per month makes the phone sound cheap. Which S8 or is there only one?

I got approval same day, but had to wait 1 day for my prepaid number to be released to contract (MTN prepaid to MTN contract).
