Samsung Galaxy S8

Anyone have a rattling noise when shaking the phone? A quick search brought up this video which is exactly the noise I have.

Results also said it's the camera image stabilizer and suggested to open the camera app and shake to hear again. It does go away when camera opened so it may well be the OIS.
Funny thing is it started randomly and I'm sure wasn't there all along, hence me Googling the problem.
 
Due for upgrade

Have s7 edge and still happy with it.

But since I am due an upgrade s8 or s9? S9 unknown issues while s8 been used now for a while so issues if any known.

Would you stay with your s8 or upgrade?

You are asking the wrong bunch here... you should ask the ones in the S7 thread. The S7 and S8 are vastly different in style, but the S8 and S9 is much closer in terms of look, feel and usage... I've used both, and will be a user of the S9. And if I were coming from the S7, I would DEFINITELY upgrade to the S9.

My intention is to upgrade so the question is to s8 or s9?

Thus question to this bunch who has upgraded from s7.

My concern is that the s9 is unknown so may have flaws eg problematic battery or poor storage etc.

S8 is known ito issues.

I am happy to upgrade now to s8 and then in Dec to s9 ( 2nd contract).

S7 edge more than adequate at the moment but as I am entitled to upgrade may just as well.

I would go to S9 if I were you
 
I'll see what deals they offer on red package. Hoping to score a bundle deal eg gear s3 with phone.
 
Deff go with the the s9. Will be a great upgrade from the s7. Better location for fingerprint scanner if you go s9 plus dual camera, 6gig ram (not confirmed, rumoured) will be a better bet.

Can anyone confirm if these devices that get the Oreo update are tied to carriers and have a carrier CSC or do they have just generic software?
How is it possible that so many carriers are able to release their software so quickly if they are indeed carrier versions of oreo?

I doubt they are carrier, but even if they are, those carriers have an active role in rolling out updates. Vodacom has proven that they sommer decide randomly to be quick or not. It looks like they have no strategy at all.

You know what's even worse. I messaged @vodacomkyle on the Vodacom community.
He said they have no control over when the updates are released and it's up to Samsung to push updates to the phones.
 
Apparently S8+ on MTN received the Oreo update late last night.....can anyone else confirm?
