Thanks, but I already tried this. And I don't think Pretoria can be classified as a humid place as such.
 
Has anyone installed one of the Oreo firmwares from the Samobile website and is it worth the trouble?

I did. I reverted to Vodacom the next day lol.
I don't think it's worth it. My itchi fingers just wanted to check it out.

1. I plan on selling the phone soon to upgrade to S9. The buyer can decide what he wants.
2. VoLTE and WIFI calling on Vodacom firmware.
3. For some reason after the upgrade, my CSC showed XFE even though I installed OXM German unbranded. Thought I would not receive OTA updates because of this inconsistency. My original CSC from Vodacom is XFV and that has been restored now.

Very simple process though, I was actually suprised at the time Odin took. Literally 4 minutes. The phone took longer to boot up than the actual Odin process.

So, no issues going back to XFV then? Glad to hear this. Read somewhere that you wouldn't be able to go roll back to Nougat.
 
Hey guys, my case is looking a bit rubbish now. Any recommendations? I don't mind what it looks like. Looking at avoiding breaks

I've got the Spigen Tough Armor (looks decent but slightly bulky). Dropped the device around 10 times since owning the cover and not a scratch nor any dents. Also, this is without having a glass screen protector.

I paid R580 through Raru when I got it last year (best price at the time).

My phone was starting to worry me, it would be down to 20-30% with 5 hours on battery with 3 hours screen on time.

I deleted some apps I never use, removed everything set to be exempt from power saving, booted into the recovery menu and wiped the cache partition and now I'm on 16 hours 30 minutes on battery with 3 hours screen on time with 28% battery left and it says 3 hours remaining.

Anyone have any news about Samsung Pay in S.A. one of the major reasons I got this phone. All news seemed to indicate that it was going to be sometime late last year, well into Q1 of this year and still no news.....

This was the reason I got the S6 back in 2015. It is very disappointing that they still have not implemented it here yet.
