I recently loaded a ROM for my S7 Edge with UAE CSC file and Samsung Pay worked with my local card.

Any information on when the SA networks will be getting android 9.0 updates for the s9 plus? What's the update schedule like for galaxy s phones in SA and how long do they support it
I saw early next year on another website.

Is that referring to when Samsung will release it or when the South African networks will push out the updates? There can be delays as to when we actually get it here.
I did read about Samsungs new one UI that they will be pushing out next year for phones s8 and up. So I assume this will come with the pie updates that the phones will get. Again not sure when SA will get those updates. Can we get that info from anyone at the networks?

Once spoke to an agent from Samsung, they said vodacom is the network that's always up to date. He also said network providers do checks to see what their customers use for security measures on their phones and based on that determine whether they need to push down updates. And also based on the user base (company contracts mean sensitive information therefore more security is needed). And most companies are with vodacom.

I think I did something wrong when changing from XFA to XFE. I haven't received any OTA updates...

Will do. My biggest gripe is the VERY slow download from Sammobile when using a free account.

Don't... it's crap
Well for 1, everytime my phone goes over a speed hump, it want's to scan for an unlock (mimic as tho the phone is being picked up)
2. Notifications are intermittent, i.e it does not vibrate for smses, WhatsApp messages.
3. It has crazy color themes... you cannot see the icons in the drop down list..
4. Most importantly the freaken calendar don't work
