Unfortunately thats just the way tech works, if you want the latest and greatest, u need to accept that there will always be something way better and cheaper the following month.

I can recall spending R5k on a mid range BD player, which can be picked up now for around a grand, and to top it off BD hasnt even taken off in SA.

as i said in another thread, i accept the optimal size maybe somewhere between 7" and 10". but in the meanwhile, for me 7" fulfills mobility issues. and then in terms of apps, i would be interested which apps suffered. i have plenty on mine and i can't say that i think i suffer anything because it runs froyo or is a 7"

I actually see 7" as a perfect size for a reader. If you measure one next to a normal softcover its about the right size and weight.
9"+ just start getting to big for reading just plain text, that is why I end up using the DHD instead of the iPad, At the same time reading my comic books on a DHD just not gonna happen.

So its all up to what the device primary is going to be use for.
 
I think the 10.1" would be the best.

7" is good enough for books, but too small for movies.
9.7" (like the iPad) is a bit "neither here not there" - aspect ratio is somewhat "lost".
10" is perfect for movies, and very nice for books - provided the the fonts increase with the size..
 
depends, a lot of magazines which are designed for tablets are formatted such that they are very easy to read, that zooming into the article makes for easy reading, others not so, in which case your point would be valid
