Samsung Note 3 Bezel replacement

Hi guys,

I'm hoping you can assist.
I've read a few articles online about replacing the (crappy) bezel on these awesome phones.
My screen is perfect and so is the phone, but the bezel has taken a massive beating over the last (almost) 2 years.
I'm not looking to upgrade as I am more than satisfied what this phone is capable of.
Now I see it's not as easy as it seems, as the bezel forms parts of the chassis.
Is there anyone who can advise where I could get these parts in Cape Town and some input regarding DIY on this type of project.

Can I piggy back off this purchase? I need 1 as well.
Probably a good idea to ask in the Note3 thread as to who else wants to chip in.
 
Getting the bezel is the easy part. Fitting the new one on the Note 3 is a very tough job. It doesn't just unscrew and unclip. You have to first heat up the lcd and digitiser, then remove it from the very sticky double sided tape without damaging it. Hell of a job.

I've read on many international sites about people complaining about this crappy design (flaw).

Maybe I'll just get a cover that "covers" it along with a screen protector.
 
samsung sa ... i got mine for about 400 odd fitted last yr

I'd rather do that option, the eBay part may very easily look fine but be dodgy quality and look worse than the worn out original part after just a few months of use. And there's a good chance that it being your first try fitting one that you mangle your phone/screen a bit in the process.

Personally I'd just live with it, doesn't affect the operation of the phone, it is an oldish phone and a gel back cover will cover the bezel anyway.

Ebay is a winner, ordered a few parts for my Note 3.
 
Thanks everyone, I'm trying to get it fixed whilst under garuantee (adh). I've read that you can use the second claim together with a screen claim (2 claims) to cover for any additional components necessary for the fix.
Hopefully that'll work.
I am due for upgrade, but afrihost has an awesome month to month deal and I have this awesome phone. Not going to upgrade just for a few extra specs and nice looks.
 
Yip, I got a LG G4 and my Note 3 still smoked it in just about every division except the camera.
