Sanral offices evacuated, e-tolls down

E-tolling was not disrupted by the evacuation.

Biological testing proved that the white powder found at Sanral's operations centre in Pretoria on Tuesday was not anthrax, the Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) said.

CEO Jamie Surkont did not say what the substance was.

Thirty seven people were decontaminated and hospitalised as a precautionary measure, he said in a statement on Tuesday night.

The Tshwane hazardous material unit was called to the centre on Tuesday afternoon after a "suspicious envelope containing a white substance" was found on the premises.

This resulted in the shutdown of electricity there and the evacuation of the building.

So if it makes SANRAL look like they are the victim then the go all out hospitalizing all their staff. I don't know any company in SA that what do that without having the substance tested first. Then when it turns out to be possible drugs that might make SANRAL look like the bad guys they can keep quiet.

If taxpayer money has been used like ambulances to take them to hospital and for the substance to be tested them we deserve to know what it the substance is.

The 'old regime' was not only undemocratically elected, it dehumanised people purely on the basis of colour, nothing else and had a buch of Laws enacted through their parliament in order jail people for merely wanting to be in the wrong area , love the wrong colour person, attempt to work without a pass etc etc.

To make an anology of the current govt to your old, makes one sick that you guys have not changed one bit. I am not saying that about white people in general, but the demographic that rant on here about how badly the ANc is affecting their pockets.

Half of you want to justify terrorism against a legal tolling system, the other half are too stupid to define terrorism and think that sending white powder to someone is a joke.
Not sure about SA but do it in the US and you would pay a visit to bubba for a long time, ditto Aus.

How about you guys grow some balls and fight the real wrongs of the ANC, or if you condone this ****, then by all means write your address on the envelope of white powder you send, lick it well so that they can confirm through DNA...in fact get real Anthrax and then lick it to test if it works.

Oh, and btw re 'job creation' our M7 toll road just minutes from me has a huge control centre with lots of staff and screens...that's the way it works , not some subversive schem of ANC, they are not clever enough either...oh sorry, it should work differently in SA and I know nothing about a country I regularly visit and aid with real projects.

Was your M7 an urban road before it was tolled? Was it tolled immediately after it was built?

Can see you don't drive on the N1 to work everyday. If you lived in Gauteng and drove the road (that was build and paid for by tax payers/fuel levies).. then you can comment on the subject.

There are a bunch of people, and have recieved PMs from some who do have sense, and have given up on posting in this environment.

You a like a crowd egging on a fight, but without the balls to actually fight yourself.

In relation to some of the stuff recommended against the system or e-Toll, even posting that on a forum would land you in trouble in other countries- western countries- tell me where the encouragement of terrorism is condoned...but your ilk is even too stupid to realise that, thinking that you are strong when anonymous, when you are just cowards who would never be able to overthrow any govt the way others have.
Because doing so requires risk and giving up what you have in the short term.

It replaced urban road and other urban roads have been tolled, happy to pay.

The point was about the need for control centre in any case
