Simply a case of hurry up an wait now. I submitted on Saturday night, got my IT34 back within minutes, check again now and I haven't been selected for verification or audit.

Submitted mine on Friday just after 22:00. Since it was after business hours, I still expected it to only be processed yesterday though. I put my money on today or tomorrow, literally. Think last year I only got it on the 4th as well.

So the company I worked for deducted to little PAYE. When I queried this with them they assured me everything was fine.

Now that I tried to complete my e-filing SARS says I owe them R200 000.

Would SARS allow me to repay this in installments? Anyone have experience on this?

I'm going to delay submitting until the end of the tax season.

I had that issue.

A few years ago I owed R500. They took it off the amount they refunded me the next year. Looking at your amount, the solution does not seem so simple

Just to confirm, you get like a very big salary? Like over R750 000 per year? Else that amount doesn't make sense...

Sounds like they didn't send any of your tax to the taxman, despite stating they did, and kept the money for themselves, if I'm honest.

To get to R200k takes more than "a little less" paid over per month...

No, they already deducted tax but at the wrong rate. I can see the tax they paid on my IRP5 and e-filing. They just deducted too little.

Really didn't budget for this. Surely the employer should be liable in some way too.

On a lighter note, can you pay SARS at Checkers with eBucks vouchers.

Wow, so you earned about R16k extra each month - great salary you getting.

BTW - the error was by your company - shouldn't they try and assist you in repaying this (maybe like some kind of advance) - just putting it out there, not sure how feasible this will be.

Yeah, especially if they had confirmed they were doing it correctly when he had enquired...

Question: Is your companies HR dept using monkeys for staff?

Another question... no emergency savings (3 months net pay minimum recommended) and such from your good salary for pay for this?

I'm no longer employed there. But would have liked for them to take some ownership for their error.

I'm currently on a sabbatical, so have some savings but this is rough since I never budgeted for it.

No, he got the money, not the company. He is liable for it.
