I checked my SOA shows amount 0.0 I almost cried, but then it shows a electronic refund date of tomorrow.

I changed my medical aid scheme with Discovery to Classic Saver. I've now received an IT3(b) certificate from them. Is this something I have to submit separately to my tax return?

On the line that says "Electronic refund". If it's not showing after you request a new SOA, it's not scheduled as a payment on their side yet.

I am assuming its in the itemized section stating electronic fund with a date next to it. There is no actual refund date field.

I phoned them now, prompt and easy response. However no audit no verification no special hold. They say 7 business days today is 8. Maybe from the 1st of July

Mine was submitted on 03/07/18 so around 10/07/18 I should receive refund. SOA says 01/08/18 though........

Have you received a letter saying the verification is complete and they have made no chances?

Well I got an sms saying something is online for me to see, IT34 I think, so I've got two. Went to the statement of account and saw that date.

How long does the verification/audit take? I have submitted docs and they acknowledged receiving it

Reckon it differs for everyone, official line is 21 working days I think?

I submitted 2018 return on 2 July. Then I was told that 2015 and 2016 was outstanding. Did so on 4 July. (Strange part is in 2017 they refunded me within 7 days without noticing 2015,16 returns were outstanding). Phoned SARS today. Agent said the refund amount of R20 k will be paid within the next 7 business days. If not ,then it means that verification is being done and turnaround time is 15 working days. With SARS you never really know until you receive that sms from the bank.

Anyway, I managed to get all the paperwork I needed and submitted to SARS. Now for the wait. Statement of account reads the full -R13,750~something on my name. I'm flabbergasted. Is it that much every year for most people?

It sounds like a "normal" amount. Guessing you have 1 or 2 kids on your medical aid, and RA etc. Mine was R7 272 this year, and I only have medical aid for 2 people.

No kids yet, but the first one is coming. This was for 2 years, so that might explain it.

I filed on 01-07-2018 at 3pm and was selected for audit - verification. This is the 4 year in a row

That's so odd. I've been filing since 2009, so 10th time now, not even been audited once.

Mine shows the same, but first time since 2014 for audit

The documents they request has always been travel log and Purchase agreement of my vehicle

I only have medical and RA

But I filed way early and apparently thats why
