Filed on the 1st and have a refund due. I'm not selected for audit, but my SOA does not show any payment date. It only shows the refund due. How long does the refund process normally take?

Will give that a go. The one I just requested also still shows nothing. I don't understand how these random payments works since other guys at work got their refunds on Wednesday and they submitted at the same time I did. Oh well, that's SARS.

Mine is pretty much the same, exactly the same statuses etc. The only difference is that I have been selected for verification and had to submit supporting docs. Check on your ITA34 if there is a date of refund under transaction details, also check on the same document if you have been selected for verification or not.

I did not see a payment date except the date of 2019 I think if I owe them something or finalization from my side.
The amswers are all NO-Audit, NO-Verification, and another NO.
Nothing indicates a problem but nothing indicates finalization of payout either. This is confusing haning between states or not 100% sure whats going on.

I have practical suggestion for SARS, simple on the eye of the taxpayer, how about a Digital Visual-Robot-System-Display(Dashboard).
Example:You eFile for year, like 2018:
What you see if you log in:
1-A red robot=You must submit your 2018 tax return.
2-An Orange robot=They received your filed tax return, but nothing done yet.
3-A blue robot=They attend to your return, busy with it.
4-A purple robot=You select for VERIFICATION and documents to be uploaded specified.
5-A maroen robot=You select for AUDIT and documents specified to be uploaded.
6-A flashing maroen robot(Dark Red)=You must visit a SARS Branch and documents to take with specified.
7-A green robot=You have been checked and payout to you is on its way, may take X-days.
8-A green robot and a flashing yellow robot=You have been checked and owe SARS X-amount to be payed back in X-days.

More lights/robots can be added for Vat and other matters. A flowchart with lights may also give much quick perspective to anybody accessing the system from any type of input.


This wil leave the taxpayer in a place where he know he is, and remove unnecessary attempts to communicate, waist time etc.
Let the expensive IT system work for the taxpayer also in a practical easily way.
Let the boxed backgrounds be as complicated as it can be, but have a quick practical referral lidted illustration of the process.

At this moment I only have a vague unsure clue as to where I am after submitting a return.

You can download them from internet banking. I'm with Standard and did it yesterday.

It shows profit , loss and all that crap.

So I'll admit upfront I'm one of "those" people - running a linux desktop...madness.

Last year I managed (eventually) to get the return in (can't remember if it was firefox or chromium).

This year I'm also stuck on "busy preparing your form". I see other here are also hitting that - anybody found a remedy?

I have tried it in private Firefox window - same result.

Chromium unfortunately this year gives the dreaded "we have detected an outdated version of adobe bla bla bla".

So I now bowed down, installed "real" Chrome - still no dice.

What does your payment date show? I have 2 different dates , 1 says 1 August, other days 31 Jan
