SARS E-Filing 2019/20

Messaged hither and yon continuously (Satrix and SARS) and I'm STILL waiting for someone to get back to me about my Satrix TFSA. Satrix hasn't entered my TFSA 4219 details and I'm not allowed to edit/delete add to that entry.

...How important is that info and can I submit without it? I made 1 contribution of R4000 last year.

I visited SARS related with the same issue. The quick and dirty fix:

1. On the general page, add another TFSA account
2. Complete it with the same description
3. Complete the 4219 section, everything else R0

And to answer you, related to tfsa data: its very inportant

You're a brave person to visit SARS directly. Thanks for the heads up!

I first made an appointment. The branch I visited was clued up.

They said do what I described, or contact the firm to get it corrected.

Its a 5 min fix vs 5 weeks waiting (the other way around)

I wasn't too impressed with Satrix's cheerful reply to fix it myself if I could, after I'd said I couldn't. 5 weeks waiting time vs 5 minutes is pretty accurate. Not too thrilled with Satrix this tax season.

Alot of tfsa firms have issues. I had 2 firm issues, also tfsa related! I wasnt impressed either

And that's me done. And I'm getting money back! That was a nice surprise.
Not thrilled with Satrix though.

So what does one do when there are discrepancies between the IRP5 and info at SARS?

Edit: Sorted. Just doing a refresh fixed it. And I've gone from owing them to them owing me a bit. Better than needing to pay in for sure.

Arghhh. Been putting off my return as I owe SARS money. Deadline is Monday, so bit the pullet and paid what I owe. Their auto-assessment is pretty darn accurate, picked up all my income and expenses - couldn't find anything to dispute.

Finally got my notice today saying its complete and no further adjustment will be made. Nothing in my bank account yet but hopefully that will arrive soon. So it took them 2 weeks to finish the audit.
I got paid on 6th Nov so overall timeline was 2 weeks for the audit, and then 3-4 days to pay me out. Not too bad overall. Return is very welcome and was a decent amount due to higher medical bills last year.

Did those of you with the "4482-IRP L/S amount missing" error manage to resolve the issue?

I resigned w.e.f. 31 Dec 2019, but my pension was only transferred to the preservation fund in July 2020. Contacted GEPF 3 times last week. They issued me with a IT3(a), but advised that it is for processing in the 2021 tax year. SARS insists it is for the 2020 tax year (year of accrual).

I made a written submission to SARS, but no idea when this will be resolved (if at all).

In the meantime I am stressing about not being able to submit. I keep on refreshing the return hoping for a miracle...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Why leave tax till the last day? :(

Submitted mine today late afternoon. Auto-assessment was completed in 1 minute, so i'll be getting some cash back. What's the turn around time, a couple of days perhaps?

Does anyone know how the turnaround time is determined? Person assigned and hopefully you get someone diligent and keen to work? I submitted mine in Sep and still waiting for audit to be completed (submitted my documents same day of submission)

If there is no progress in that long you should call and follow up.

Yeah. Did my dads submission a few days ago and he got paid.

Did mine and got a message will get around 27k.

Hi Guys, I did my return on the 24 Nov and it requested supporting docs which I sent right away. Has anyone been audited and paid within the prescribed 21 days? I get audited every year and wait months and months and spend countless hours calling and chasing up, hopefully this year is different
