SARS E-Filing 2020/21

Same here, and then there is 2012 tax year that I also have to resubmit.
Yoh, if they ask me about 2012, I have nothing - not even IRP5. :-(

I thought we were supposed to keep docs for 5 years? Did I get that seriously wrong?

Nope ... I was told about 5 years just this morning by a SARS call center agent

But in my years of dealing with Bank Consultants , call center agencies --- everyone there know different things
You will get different info from diff folks -- about 1 query you have

SO had to submit for 2008 last year, and she was not even required to submit in 2008. General consensus is keep everything forever.

The most I've ever heard about docs. to keep, is 10 years, so that's what I'm doing.
Everything older is getting destroyed (physical copies), as it falls into "year 11".

I logged onto my SARS profile and it says I have been auto assessed. Have not submitted any documents as yet.

@Malvolio is referring to some us (incl me), where SARS filed our assessment in error, before we were able to view and approve it. Status for those of us who experienced this is "Estimate filed by SARS".

SARS issues stuff, they don't file - it's the taxpayers job to file/submit.

My last entry on my SOA is a 40 trx reference, so I guess we need to sit back and wait, I never filed my assessment, I just saved it. So tempted to submit or even use Tax Tim submit as the refund amounts are the same. Hence trying to suss out what's the best to get refunded the quickest.

Any news on when they processing the people affected by 'Estimate filed by SARS' refunds .... Can't get through to SARS. Fingers are itching, lol.

Da bastards. My medical aid certificate was on my return (no amounts not paid by medical aid). So what does SARS ask for? Yes, "Please upload your medical aid tax certificate"

So, it looks like audit can go as back as 15 years. :whistling:

So, the fact that an assessment is more than three to five years old, or even 15 years old, does not mean that an audit cannot be conducted for the proper administration of a tax Act.

Meh. Was supposed to be refunded tomorrow, but now they've reversed that, and want to verify again.... FML

Anyone experiencing issues with getting latest SOA? Mine just gives error (Edge and Chrome tried) when generating. "

There has been an error. Please try again or contact us if the problem persists (254866370).

Clearly some early system issues this year. "Protect me from myself".

Tried SARS browser ?

I can't edit RA amount. Tried Chrome as well as SARS browser. Is it normal ? I never had RA before hence the question.

My efiling profile is empty, no returns, no returns history

I'm wondering if it doesn't have something to do with me registering with TaxTim. I thought I'd give it a shot but I absolutely hate the interface, efiling is better.
