Yesterday I logged in to find Sars had removed what I had done, created an auto assessment and fully submitted it. No approve or decline. The thing is they never included the RAs which had been on their system.
We now have to resubmit and basically dispute
After talking to my accountants, they said they are seeing this with multiple of their clients.
If you auto submitted go back and check.
This year you don't get an option to accept or reject the auto assessment. It is fully submitted and if it is wrong you only get 40 days to object.

This fiasco would have deprived the wife of r6k in refunds

There seems to be an issue (or more than one issue if unrelated to yours) with third party RA data. Over this tax season our company changed RAs/pension funds and the transferred data is incorrectly reflecting at SARS. We've been told to hold off submission until it's been resolved.

Correct. Follow up with the 3rd party to first fix their data! Then refresh the uploads, then look again if amendments show

Except the Person writing the article got it wrong :) There is no chance to decline the auto assesment

Same here due date is 01082022.. Wonder why they gonna take so long as opposed to last year where it took 5 days before refund reflected
 
Also submitted on 01/07/2022 and waiting for 01/08/2022 for the refund.

But I first want to receive the refund before I rate them. Last year was a big schlep with then denying my WFH expenses, and having to dispute it to get the funds. If it goes the same this year they'll get a 0 rating.

What’s does your SOA state ? As seen below is my SOA - called the call centre to hear why the “refund reversal “- it was mentioned that I had to upload my banking details, ID and proof of address.
( that was yesterday) this morning I called again and it was mentioned that my account has been verified now and payment would take 3 business days. IMG_5187.jpg
 
So a strange thing has happened to my SO. She received an SMS from SARS that she has been auto-assessed, etc. So she logged into eFiling to check out the auto-assessment. She checked out the auto assessment, but planned on modifying it later because it was missing quite a few things, like capital gains from a property sale, unclaimed medical expenses, etc. Then, all of a sudden, 3 days later she received a notification from her bank that SARS has paid her a refund, which was the exact amount as per the auto assessment. The strange thing is she never accepted the auto-assessment. She just viewed it and BOOM, 3 days later she gets a refund from an auto-assessment that is completely wrong.
