SARS E-Filing 2021/22

Sounds correct and deductible to me but I am no expert. I see on later posts you have got clarity why and are investigating/reading up on S23(m). Good luck with that.

So I submitted 28/06 and the verification docs on the same day (2 hours later). I was only assigned an Official on 15/07 (i.e. my submission evidence did not have anyone to even look at it).

Today is now Day 17/21 - meaning if they have still not resolved it by next Thursday - I can escalate it.

The crappy part is how they can keep ignoring and come ask for more paperwork next Thursday. I am hoping not but wow, this lead-on has had no happy ending yet.

Similar timelines for me.
Submitted all, plus supporting docs on 27/06, for both me and the wife. Got a SARS official assigned on 18/07. The wife's assessment was finalized, and she got her refund on 21/07. As for mine, no movement since I got assigned a SARS official on the 18th. So, guess I will have to wait 21 days from the 18th now? Eish...

Got passed my Efiling site pop up issues by using personal PC. ITR12 submitted, received IT34 almost immediately. a better refund that previous years.
Got a notification that my refund has been put on hold. Reason - Outstanding submission for 2015. I didn't even realise that i did not submit this. but why now after so many years and paying refunds in last 2 years already.

I'm confused. My SOA says Refund 2022-08-01 and then Electronic refund 2022-07-19. I have not received anything, so does that mean I must wait until August? My compliant status is green - compliant, and no correspondence from SARS for additional documents.

This was an auto assessment.

Any issues at SARS this morning with the Efiling website not opening documents when clicking on them....example clicking on VAT201 button doesnt do anything . . .tried phoning SARS but answering message said they are having difficulties . . . because of the strike?! . . .anybody able to open the VAT201 button ?
VAT201 Working again since 9am ...looks like they fixed it.....

Timeline: Documents submitted on 4 Aug, assigned to an office on 22 Aug

Done on Saturday, selected for audit. The same procedure as every year, James.
14/07 - Case allocated to SARS official and received request for additional supporting documents (mostly clarity on why my rental property made a loss for this tax year)
14/07 - submitted supporting documents
15/07 - verification completed without changes
20/07 - refund in the bank.

Refind was due today but was reversed and now for some reason they want to go back to 2020 and asking for supporting docs.....

Nope, just wait. I started stressing as well, but it eventually came through.
I've been checking efiling to see if a return has been issued yet, SARS' African Intelligence must still be on strike.

Have you requested a ITR12. My refund got reversed, but I think it is because they are using a bank account that is closed.

I considered doing that in efiling but decided not to take that bull by the horns (not yet).

Well, I did read that they aim to complete auto assessment by 24/07. Note that not everybody gets auto assessed. You might have to file a return.

So this year I owe SARS because I freelanced for 3 months last tax year and declared that income.

No worries, I have the money sitting in a TymeBank GoalSave, but it was amazing to not be audited for the first time in years (since I owe them for a change). Amazing how fast and simple things become when you owe them.

Now I have a payment date of 01/08 with an interest-free deadline of 31/08. Is there any positives (besides cashflow reasons) to go for a payment plan? Not sure if that charges interest or just makes them more understanding haha.
