SARS staff are on strike. Dont hold your breath.Still waiting for an auditor or whomever to be allocated to me...Since they received all my docs on the13th
Story of my life!SARS staff are on strike. Dont hold your breath.
Since assigning an Official at midday on 15/07, they have just finalized mine this morning @ 08:27 - gave me a bit of a heart attack rejecting my home office expenses (like WTF) and saying I owe them R2250. Once I refreshed, seems they reduced my return value with that amount.2022-07-16 06:25 SARS sent you a Letter "Case Status Update" view
2022-06-28 18:50 SARS sent you a Letter "Requirement To Submit Supporting Documents" view
2022-06-28 18:40 SARS sent you an ITA34 assessment of your tax return submission view
↳ Refund to you: R123, Balance due to you: R123, Audit: Yes
2022-06-28 17:52 You submitted your tax return to TaxTim
My return shows the following "Please note that your assessment cannot be processed immediately as there are certain aspects of your return that require manual intervention. SARS will advise you as soon as your return has been assessed". This was from the 7/7/22, with no update since.
Anyone experienced the same or any advice/thoughts?
In my case, I had to upload my medical aid tax certificate(s) manually. IRP5 was prepopulated. Do I just wait? Don't really want to hold on the call centre line when I'm #375 in the queueI've seen this mainly where an IRP5 certificate has been added to a return manually (i.e. it wasn't already prepopulated) or where the box saying that you are no longer resident in South Africa is ticked (although this box is greyed out for most people this year).

Yeah that's what I thought. I swapped medical aids twice during the tax year though...I don't think there's much you can do except to wait. It is strange though that your medical aid tax certificate wasn't already prepopulated.

Nope. Are you by any chance a foreigner registered with SARS through your passport number? I know some foreigners have had problems with SARS with 3rd-party data matching.
I have tax question.
I’m fairly soon going to be feeling some shares on EasyEquity that I’ve had since 2020.
Once I’ve sold them. Does EE retain the tax applicable or would I have todo it.
Would I then submit this info at my next tax return (next year?) or how does this usually work.
Dividends are paid minus tax from EE
Wait until it's been 21 working days. If it still hasn't moved then follow up.So my Tax Return is still awaiting audit (submitted 4th of July). What do I do now? Give up?
Looks like efiling is not working. I can logon, through web browser, but it hangs when i request a return.Anyone having issues logging into SARS MOBI on iOS? I keep getting an error when trying to login. "An Unexpected error occurred..."
Thanks man. So I take it they submit the IT3C to SARS anyway. So on my next tax return SARS will calculate tax due and payable to them?Short answer is no, capital gains tax is not deducted by Easy Equities before paying you out. It's up to you to declare your capital gains and losses on your tax return in the same year that the gain or loss took place. Easy Equities will provide you with an IT3(C) certificate however detailing your capital gains and losses for the relevant tax year.
