SARS eFiling 2024/2025

Check your Statement of Account today. I filed on Mon. 21st also, checked the ITSA yesterday no mention of payment. Today there is an entry 'electronic refund' dated 24th. So fingers crossed.

Regenerated/updated SOA, still nothing, so, we, wait...

Could be that they got bogged down and haven't got to it yet.
Worst case, they could be delaying it to serve you with a verification or audit notice. Had that a couple years ago because the company I worked for then had cooked the IRP5's.

Might also be the size of the refund as in addition to my 'normal' refund due to business travel, medical expenses, S18 donations, etc. I was unemployed for over 2 1/2 months of the tax year.

Well the AI seems pretty dom for me. I've been working from home for the past 5 years (same address and same employer), yet every year I'm selected for verification or audit, and they ask for the exact same proof and details.
Same with me, but this year I weren't selected. Even though I claimed more.

How's it possible though? I'm also working from home. Supporting documents required are usually (if you are a home owner), rates & taxes, levies (if in a security estate), ISP expenses etc...I don't see AI being able to formulate a calculation without the actual numbers.

I’m getting 90k back this year.
Submitted on Sunday night. The form says I will be paid on the 24th

Had the same issue but fortunately only on the second lump sum (transfer). Tick yes for lump sum receipt in the setup questions. This should generate a lump sum tab to complete. Typically requires an IRP5 cert No., Directive No., the amount, and if I recall one other reference No. from the IRP5. Still not sure who (Employer or source fund) issues the IRP5 to SARS but the recipient fund should be able to supply the details. In my case, Sygnia were able to provide.
Ninety One says we should be able to file on Friday.

Does anyone have experience with claiming for a disabled child from SARS for the first time.

Need some assistance and guidance.

Hi

Claiming for a disabled child is tricky. I use a guy that specializes in disability claims and it makes a huge difference.

I can send you his details if you want, the only issue is he is very busy at this time of year so I do not know when he will be able to help you.

I noticed an auto-assessment was generated for me last night. It looks accurate, except that it didn’t include my home office expenses. I edited the assessment to add that expense, and after submitting it, it was flagged for verification asking for the following supporting documents:

I've just submitted them. Bring on the change
They came back yesterday asking for more stuff:
- Proof of rental paid of R134820.
- 360 degree photographs of home office used.
- Is the home office specially equipped for purposes of your trade? Kindly elaborate.
- Is the home office used regularly and mainly/exclusively for your work? Kindly elaborate.
- List of business related items and equipment situated within the home office.
I've provided them old ones as I no longer reside at said address.

I paid more than my entire basic annual salary in taxes to SARS in FY25, and their "thank you" token is R8,073 - which I’m being made to work to claim. I am so used to being audited, it feels like a breeze. I don't know submitting and getting paid no issues

I’m so annoyed that you can’t claim the interest expense on your home loan. The bond is by far the biggest cost— all the other apportioned expenses are negligible in comparison.
