SARS eFiling 2024/2025

Where do you see this breakdown?
Looks self-collated.

Self-collated is correct, closest you can come to it is look at the SARS correspondence
e.g
2025/07/25 12:38:35 Completion Letter
2025/07/25 12:37:40 FINALISED WITHOUT CHANGES
2025/07/24 16:24:11 CASE ALLOCATED TO SARS OFFICIAL
2025/07/21 13:06:33 Requirement To Submit Supporting Documents
2025/07/21 13:01:21 IT34 - ORIGINAL ASSESSMENT

Then add in when you submitted documents and when you see refund in bank account.

No Refund due. (The wording of their correspondence this year was: VERIFICATION OF YOUR INCOME TAX RETURN SUBMISSION)

The SARS Status of my 2025 Return states:
Any Movement on your manual intervention status? Mine still same with verification docs submitted, apparently SLA is 90 working days:cautious:

I am semi disappointed this year, no wait. Actually every year.

So I submitted this year’s submission. Got audited. Uploaded supporting documents. Got audited again, uploaded more. Then they said they are disallowing things, but wait, my money is soon in. I made a dispute. Money in this morning. So I assume I am filing a correction this morning.

What a circus of note!

Same this side. They requesting one document after the other. Just request them all at once ffs. Delay tactics.

I am confident that's not the case as this is now my 3rd/4th or 5th rodeo.

I submitted it, and they asked for verification information regarding the work-from-home claim. I submitted it the same day.
They took a week before asking for more proof (of rent, office, and clarification of my role). I submitted last Thursday.
Still radio silence. My friend who had a similar process submitted the second batch of proofs on Sunday evening. On Wednesday, they finalized his. He was paid this morning. FIFO queue for what? Dispute that whack. Let them pay you again

I got R101 from SARS.

LET THE PARTY START
Koppel n sakkie indoor dans is ons oraait. Otherwise, I'll pull R50 bymekaar dan kry ons n lekker Zamalek kus

Ahh we have a veteran in our midst lol :laugh::laugh: - so you have had this whole your return couldn't be processed, await manual intervention message before? so historically what is the turnaround time?

Lol, I've forgotten how regular filings work where you submit and get paid. My employer shut the CT office in 2020. Since then SARS and I do a little dance every year

I owe them R87-97 😕😕😕
Lol, don't pay it like they don't pay out less than R100. Teach them a lesson 💀😂

Selected for auditing.

For those that work overseas and are still SA tax resident - how does provisional tax work?

Filed Returns : 25 July 2025
I submitted supporting docs on Monday, 28 July 2025.
I have not received any feedback from SARS .
And my SOA still show
Payment due: 2025/08/01
Selected for Audit: No

Is this normal?
Any advise ?

Ok thanks …
The wait continues then with hope they will pay the refund before 21days 😔

Since I submitted supporting docs: 2025/07/28…
Still Nothing from SARS
No response at all
My SOA has not changed

Payment due day : 2025/08/01
Selected for Audit: No

Any advise, coz I’m not sure what to do next

Wait. They have up to 21 business days to respond to/review your submitted docs. If you haven't heard from them after that then you can escalate it. Until then your only option is to wait.

Has your SOA updated with refund issued transaction?

ooof ... completed tax return, saved and used SARS' calculator, showing a fat f-ing amount owed still

anyone have experience in receiving a lump sum payout in the past?

it looks like the lump sum pushes me into a higher tax bracket, but a directive was applied for and received for said lump sum i.e. the tax due was already confirmed with and paid to SARS

should that lump sum still affect total income and things like tax brackets then?

looks like for the first time ever I need to chat to a tax expert of sorts, the money "due" dwarfs any consulting fee

Money you get back is just into your bank account. Has nothing to do with tax brackets and also doesn't get taxed. When you get it you can spend everything on a party.

Directive is only a guidance based on historical returns. Yes, the lump sum is part of the total taxable earnings.

Only way around it, is if you made sure you listed all your deductibles like medical aid, retirement contributions, travel claims if travel allowance, home office and other costs if mostly commission earnings, etc.
