No luck from Ninety One. One consultant says the problem has been resolved and should be cleared by end of business today.

Another consultant doesn't know if the problem has been remedied.
Finally sorted. Filled, no verification needed. Getting a measly some back. I guess the pay role peeps are almost doing their job correctly.

Submitted and selected for verification.

Anyone know how long this process takes?

Salary plus some allowances
Vehicle allowance with log book (Though have not uploaded that yet)
2 pot claim
Medical Aid

That is all

Any odd things I may need to include with above besides the obvious proof of all claims?

Submitted my better half's E-filing. Paid in 4 days. Painless. Another good experience.

You have up to 21 working days to respond, provided they don't request additional information. Each time they ask for more proof, the 21-day countdown resets—meaning you have 21 days to respond, and once you do, they get 21 days to reply.

In my case, I was selected on the 16th and submitted the documents the same day. They requested additional documents on the 23rd, which I also submitted the same day. Based on that timeline, I should receive a response by August 14. (They sometimes reply sooner, but you can’t really escalate or complain until the full 21 working days have passed.)

What does it say when you log into efiling and click on refresh under refund status?

Does it state your assesment is subject to verification or audit?

No Refund due. (The wording of their correspondence this year was: VERIFICATION OF YOUR INCOME TAX RETURN SUBMISSION)

The SARS Status of my 2025 Return states:
Please note that your assessment cannot be processed immediately as there are certain aspects of your return that require manual intervention. SARS will advise you as soon as your return has been assessed

Return filed on 25thJuly…no selected for Audit. 27th July got email for supporting documents, 28thJuly morning submitted documents. But my SOA still say Not selected for Audit … nothing else so far.

Docs submitted, Tax Certificates for 2pot withdrawal , they also mention work contract.. and submitted it as well that’s all ..

I was not working March 2024 to 14 July 2024
Anything I might have missed ?

It doesn’t sound like you’ve missed anything. Now it’s just a matter of waiting to see if SARS does the right thing, since you likely overpaid tax due to not earning for those 4.5 months - or if they decide to hassle you just for the fun of it.

Was auto-assessed a Sunday and refund paid in 48hrs.

I added medical expenses on the Monday though, which affects the calculation. My status still shows "your assessment cannot be processed...", a month later.

Cmon SARS

Ok thanks …

Where do you see this breakdown?

Looks like I owe them a grand sigh
In the absence of my working from home claim, I owe them R1741.85
How long does we have to pay?
It becomes due current so 30 days. You can naturally object/dispute it to stall. Eventually, it will become overdue at which point it will start accruing interest.

Looks self-collated. TaxTim shows you something similar. E.g.. Mine on TT looks like this:
2025-07-23 21:48 You submitted your supporting documents to SARS
2025-07-23 14:00 SARS sent you a Letter "Request for outstanding information" view
Audit: Yes
2025-07-16 11:02 You submitted your supporting documents to SARS
2025-07-16 10:15 SARS sent you a Letter "Verification of your Income Tax Return Submission" view
Audit: Yes
2025-07-15 19:00 SARS sent you an ITA34 assessment of your tax return submission view

Till Friday, I tried requesting a correction and yeah seems my company is the one who short changed the tax sigh. Hopefully next year it won't be.
