SARS - how long after return is complete till refund?

WTF - called again, and given the same crap again - how useless can SARS be? Every year they give me crap.

I asked them how many 10 day periods I am expected to wait, she said I must wait until they SMS me, asked when that is, she said, when they finish... WTF - anyone know how to escalate this? I want to start with 2009 - and its been six months that they've had 2008.

Mine took about 4 months.

But it was because of an audit and I had to supply relevant documents. Was well worth it in the end :) But AFAIK without an audit, week most :confused:
 
Well - they haven't requested anything additional from me since filing on the 1st of December - useless fsckrs.

Neither did they from me, untill I went in there personally. Then all of it came to light. You might have to go give them a visit. They are very organised there and efficient. That is from my experience here in the Roodepoort branch though.

I tried that - they said the person dealing with my return isn't available atm - I mean - WTF - only one person is dealing with it, and somehow, they're always busy.

Got an SMS this morning that an update had been done on my Tax. Logged in and saw that my IT35 has been completed :D

Now to pay off the credit cards and hopefully get my new Camera... When they pay of course

EDIT: Damn.. also see they say I need to be audited again.. thats the second time! Funny how when they owe you money it takes forever!

Yeah I finally phoned and asked them what was up. They said they still need some of my supporting documents. I asked them if the could log into my efiling, and they said they were looking at it. So I asked if they could click on the supporting document section.

Of course everything was there. So they gave me a fax number which I faxed everything through to and then phoned every day until they told me they had them. Now its just the wait to see when the audit is finished
 
I just called the complaints line - sent them all my reference numbers - apparently mine is still waiting to be processed, six months later.
 
Still haven't heard anything from them, But saw this morning there was extra money in my back account. Got to work and checked and its from SARS :) Time to get my camera

Lucky you - I now have to wait another 15 working days for the complaint department - then probably another 10 days, then they'll probably want receipts, logs, etc.... etc... etc....

$%$^$% *******s.
 
i still haven't got anything back from them, submitted my return on time and haven't heard a thing...maybe I should give them a call
 
Just got an email from the complaint center - apparently my 2008 return has been finalized- wonder what that means - that I got nothing back - or that I'll now get a letter requesting further information.
 
Have you done it via E-filing? (Havent read back to check), If you have, you can log on there and see what the amount is you should theoretically get back

Registered for e-filling - but this return wasn't filed via e-filling - I logged in to check - nothing :(
 
FINALLY got my return - but I've noticed the following, and was hoping someone could explain:

Under: "Annexure to the assessment"
Penalty : R 5,591.85
Interest: R 4,623.16

Anyone know what the penalty and interest are for?
 
Laid another complaint against them, after repeatedly calling them and them not getting back to me with what the above was for - they have re-assessed my return, and now owe me R11,000 - who says complaining doesn't pay?
