SARS - how long after return is complete till refund?

Holy crap, that took a while.

I submitted mine on the 19th of December via efiling and received my payout on the 24th of December;).

Also bare in mind that a refund of more than R10 000 is subject to a audit.
 
Audit or not - they have a 90 day max turn-around time - mine took over six month - I see after I filed this complaint that my initial return was submitted in October, then again in December, and then again in February :eek: They kept my ex-tax dude busy.

xrapidx nothing still? i just saw that R1843 was paid into my acc. went to Sars today and they gave me the good news:) after 6 months of e-filing. no more e-filing for me. I'm going there very early in July to do my 2009 return... :)
 
With regards to the fine, I kept phoning then, they kept promising to phone me within the same day with an explanation - fortunate I asked for reference numbers each time. I then gave up and emailed the SARS monitoring office, they took about a week and send the fine and interest would be reversed - they, I'm assuming by accident, included their internal email correspondence, it went to about 10 different people, no one could say what the penalty and interest was for.

Still waiting for the money though, its been two weeks - I'll email them on Monday if I don't have it.

How do you get around doing it so early. My company only gives me my IRP in Feb :(

The monitoring office is better than any SARS office, they sort all queries out in 10-days - if you have good reason to complain.

They sorted both my assessment out, and the penalty (just need payment)

2009 means that I'm talking about the period of 2008 March - 2009 Feb...:confused::rolleyes:

they do returns for the previous year right? I'm also still waiting for my IRP5 for 2008 March - 2009 Feb

Spent today :(

On my cars exhaust - each year the money I get back is to buy something that I really want. Tried to explain that to my girlfriend, but she doesn't get it, I told her everything else is budgeted carefully - this is just for me.

i think what's sad about SARS is that they make you feel like they are giving you money... and it's your money in the first place...
 
I cant believe it. I filled my Tax return in as was required last month and just checked my back account and they have me my money already!
 
Took them 2 months to sort their ***** out and refund me. But it was worth the wait ...
 
I submitted my return in Sept. last year and was suppose to receive a refund, but up to now, I got zero!
