As you said in your previous post, I doubt SARS can fire her and get away with it because their hands are not clean, hence they coming up with this offer hoping she disappears quietly into the night, causing a scene is not the direction they want to take.

Follow procedure and her court case will be simple... And I would rather spend money on a court case with her getting fired and possibly ending in jail than a golden handshake where she gets off Scott free and can do this shyte again somewhere else.

Also if she is fired properly... And Sars then lodge a fraud case against her... Her defence is for her own account... Same if she wants to go to labour court.

She was probably thrust into this position through the patronage network. The past 10 years saw many technical and specialist positions used to reward loyalty.

The thing is if she got her qualification in SA a journalist could phone the institution or make use of SAQA who have length and curriculum requirements of what you can call a certificate, diploma or degree. She got her qualification in Lesotho. They have no qualification authority and you can can claim you got a degree in IT for watching a 1 minute porno remotely hor an institution that no one ever heard of that only had 1 student ever i.e. you, and closed after you got your degree. So technicality she did nothing wrong as the shithole that is Lesotho has no rules.

What I really think why SARS want to cover it up and give her a golden handshake is because there is a crapload of SARS senior employees on big salaries who got qualifications in Lesotho that weren't verified. Fake Lesotho training institutions can easily be used to make your CV look like you have a degree with no way of verifying it. It is hard to prove a negative or phone an institution that doesn't exist or prove that an institution ever existed. Heck even the learned Nugent commission who investigated SARS and specialize in law didn't touch it because they cannot prove a negative.

How easy would it be to fire her if her appraisals by her previous boss were stellar?

ANC doesn't fire or even investigate for incompetence. Rarely do they fire or investigate for fraud. At best they get asked to resign with a golden handshake because of negative press just to get recycled in some other state organisation.

After her behavior on the TV... Quite easy probably... Appraisals mean ziltch if you aren't doing your actual job at the end of the day.
