SARS tax return refund turn around time

Submitted mine yesterday morning after struggling with a terribly slow website on their part. Checked now and it is still on the "Filed through efiling" status. :-( . Oh well....sure I will get my money this week still.
 
Anybody who had to submit supporting documents get a refund yet?
I submitted yesterday morning and got my IT34 almost immediately but then also had to submit supporting docs.

What do they do with the supporting docs anyway? It says it can take up to 90 days to get a refund when supporting docs are requested, do they just use the docs to confirm the captured information or do they request and wait for information from third parties and verify it that way?

A human being is supposed to then go through your return with the supporting docs. It should be quicker than 90 days but they do have 90 days to get back to you.
 
Submitted Monday, got the cash this morning.
 
Wow, you guy got me excited. Submitted last night at 22:00 so I might see it tomorrow already, just a R1700 but thats just what I need.
 
To the people who have received their refunds already, did you get an email or text message stating that your assessment is done or did you just check your bank account?
 
selected for audit again :(

AND - this year my return is complicated because I converted from contractor to salary, so have two income codes, with split deductions. Joy
 
Filed on Monday. Got the notification from my bank that the funds are in this morning.

Saw it on my account. Still no email/sms from SARS. Efiling status hasn't been updated either.

I think it will take a bit longer if you were selected for an audit. It has only been 2 days since filing season opened.
 
Filed Tuesday night at precisely 22:00, in my account before 5:00 today (don't know exactly when). So that means less than 31 hours... probably 26 to 28 hours in my case.

I submitted Monday evening with supporting docs, got a mail yesterday saying finalized with no change. Hopefully I will get my bonus soon
