Hey guys
I've been with Webafrica for over a decade.
I chose them because their service was top class even though they weren't the cheapest. I could pick up the phone at 2am and speak to a technician and get my issue solved right away.
Well, 10 years later that is no longer the case. I've been trying for days to get hold of someone and I'm sick of their WhatsApp bot who keeps saying it is transferring me to someone but never does. "I'm sorry its taking longer than usual to connect you to an agent. I'll keep trying..."
Can you guys recommend a Fibre operator with the best service these days please?

Webafrica are great when everything is working, but when it stops working, then as you mention is it horrible. Their support "script" that they use is terrible. It will not be assigned to one person, rather who ever is on duty at that time.

They will ask for the same things over and over. Their support is absolute trash and their people know next to nothing.

To be honest it is the luck of the draw, you can go to any ISP and be that one person who sadly has poor experiences with them. I was with Afrihost and absolutely hated them as my sole provider. I now only use them for low level data stuff.

Would avoid cool ideas and axxess like the plague. Mind the speed is also useless at best. I havent heard too much negativity around bitco (although they dont allow EFT payments) and websquad (who are a little bit more expensive).

I can recommend Afrihost.
I have myOpenServe fibre, my Dad's Frogfoot fibre and my Uncle's OpenServe fibre all with Afrihost and I honestly have had no issues. My fibre has been active for over 2 years now.

What has gone wrong and how soon did they answer? (This is what the OP wants, support to be available when there us an issue)

Still awaiting your friends details to investigate what happened for you.

Fair point but realistically if your line goes down at 1am due to a fibre break or whatever the case might be even if you have support available that time to log a fault it's unlikely to be attended to at that time. You just don't get that type of SLA with FTTH.

If it's support configuring a router then that is why we at Afrihost has a dedicated team that just work on self help options, guides and videos. We have clientzone where you can make changes to your packages anytime. We have the app to view your balances and change packages if needs be.

We do call backs from 7am to 11pm at night Monday to Sunday. The inbound call centre might only operate Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm but as soon as you log a call back after these hours one of the agents will give you a call.

My positive CoolIdeas and VUMA Experience

Still waiting on you to publicly promise that she will get 50% refund if what i said is true.
If we were in the wrong we have no problem with refunding a customer.

Why would I be interested in investigating the matter in the first place?

I am in the same boat as the OP.
I am tired of being told that I am an idiot when I complain about 12/12 to international sites when I pay for a 200/200 line.
Can you guarantee that I will not suffer the same fate if I move to Cool Ideas? I wouldn't expect 200/200 to international but I also wouldn't expect to buffer while watching 480p Twitch streams and most certainly not 1/10th of my line speed.

Not CISP. Had to scratch my head a couple of times with account pages in Finnish. Ot whatever their masters use as a native language.
