Screamer ADSL

So speeds seem to be quite good (overall) for the past 2 weeks. If it goes for another 2 weeks, then (unless more users are added), we can basically declare the screamer uncapped service to be worthwhile, right? I'd think so. But then again I came directly from dialup, so I'd find ANYTHING better. :P

I agree, the last two weeks +999999

the last 3 days I've managed 3.9 gig a day (down) and about 400mb up per day.

I can echo that as well. It is now as reliable as my Afrihost or G Connect accounts. I have now downgraded my Afrihost progressively from 10G to 5G to 1G. G Connect and FNB Connect - dont think I need to spend any money there now as well. Nothing left anyway.
 
Can someone from Screamer please give me a estimate of how much longer I must wait for my account? Its been 4 working days now and no emails or calls yet...
 
Ive done about 50gig in total (thats combined) anyone else have mail errors using screamer's smtp? I keep getting mails bounced back when sending them to my holding company:

Reporting-MTA: dns; smtpdsl.screamer.co.za
Action: failed
Status: 4.0.0
Remote-MTA: dns; ironport.datapro.co.za
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 554-ironp3.datapro.co.za 554 Your access to this mail

i was on 40G yesterday. R 10 a gig. Excellent value.

I will probably tail off in the next few months once I run out off stuff to download - right now its a novelty for me.
I guess that this is what Screamer is factoring in and where they will start making money.
I am thinking of hooking up into Steam though.
 
Just noticed this now. The email I received yesterday re the possible downtime had this in the subject line:

IMPORTANT ADSL NOTICE!‎ - Screamer ADSL Trial Version -- for evaluation purposes only


Trial Version? Evaluation purposes only?
 
yeah but that was for yesterday only... and the trial version note is probably for their email warning system... (maybe they are testing it out)
 
it might, I think Screamer uses blended bandwidth tho...

edit: just started a 140mb download (nVidia driver). Running constantly @ 39kB/s

I have tried phoning 3 times today for a period of 20minutes each. And every time I am told "I am first in line bla bla a techi will help you asap. Thanks for your patience". Now seriously wtf. This is day 4 and I cannot get hold of any Screamer staff. I am getting tired of no feedback. I want to know wtf is going on please.
