Screamer ADSL

Hi All

Problems with upstream provider. but they are reporting that it should be fixed in a couple of minutes.

Although there is a place in the market for an "uncapped browsing" ADSL line (which is essentially what Afrihost, MWeb's, etc's uncapped packages are) we have decided not to play in that sector and leave it to them. Our packages are truly unlimited and we dont care if you leave downloads running without logging keystrokes and we don't throttle when you hit certain "transparent caps"

That speech would have worked if people got more then 20KB/s. No wonder there is no throttling needed hey? People cant overuse on Screamer lol
 
got a call from Neil of Thursday to try and sort out the problem. he said he would call me in a week to see if things have improved.
well so far nothing has improved yet.

i'm still getting 20kbps max on downloads without running any P2P programmes. online gaming is STILL very bad. im also getting problems when visiting the hotmail website. for some reason it just doesnt load.
Howzit can you please get someone to call me and SORT THIS OUT! NED assured us that everything would improve after the upgrade in March but nothing has changed for me.
 
does anyone have email addresses for anyone at screamer?
also has the technical support email address changed? because i haven't received any responses from them...

That sir, is total bull. I've downloaded more on my MWEB uncapped in three weeks than my two months with you twits. Glad to be gone.
 
I just foned and their bull**** answer is that seacom is doing upgrades. Wat the hell??? Idont care if they are or not when u pay R400 pm for uncapped adsl you expect to always be on and always be able to download. The guy on the fone expected me to take it up with seacom. When i asked him why they dont have a backup he just kept quiet and didnt say anything. Screamer you are really useless

Well IS also have no backup most of there ppl are also offline...

Um, screamer obviously has no redundancy (what happed to the 'blended' network?).... thats been the problem from the beginning. The tonsils on the tech support know zilch. That doesn't mean that they aren't being affected by the SEACOM outage like almost every other ISP. So pack your work away today, cause there really is little else Screamer can do for you right now. We're all on an internet go slow, because other ISP's that were using SEACOM are not routing their traffic though SAT-3 et al, which as you can imagine is very congested.

Many ISPs are having issues with SEACOM today...

Question though, why is anyone still with Screamer?
 
The only reason im still with screamer is coz u have 2 give a months notice :P but screamer has had uncapped for a while so you think they would have a backup and for the charges they can afford to have saix as a backup

I agree!!! i manage to pull ~120GB on my Afrihost account, with Screamer that would take 6-8month... I thank screamer for the full refund anyway...:D
 
Can't speak for ADSL, but WiMax working...

I'm not on ADSL, got Screamer WiMax and everything is 100s.
