Screamer Uncapped ADSL R399p/m

Hmmm, interesting. Even Screamer is admitting that wireless is a bit douchy

Sure...... and someone that eats a carrot is admitting that meat is a bit douchy

Exactly :p

Damn man, I'm REALLY tempted with the uncapped R399 package ... but I've burnt my fingers before... erf... unshaped would be awesome for some gaming... and I wouldn't have to worry about bandwidth :(

What happens when 384k goes to 512k as some people suspect telkom would bump up the speeds of the lines soon (4mb - 8mb etc)?

hmmm i'm gonna go ahead and stay with afrihost, see what they pull out of the bag...otherwise, come the new year, screamer here i come :)

Another question is, are these "special" prices or are they the prices you decided on and will be there, locked, month to month... the article says it covers the cost... so I don't want to buy into something that will:

a) Push me into a contract
b) Have the cost jump up at me for no reason
c) When my line is upgraded by Telkom, so does the "cost" of the service.. etc

Exactly :p

If your Telkom line speed increases to 512 then you change your Screamer package to an uncapped 512. We do not use Telkom to determine what line speed we provision our clients at. We provision them at what they apply for.

The "contract" is on a month to month basis
Costs are going down not up. We will not be increasing prices. GUARANTEED

Okay, so I don't have to worry that you will be billing me more money at the end of the month if Telkom bumps up my speed, it'll only mean I'll be chugging away at 384k sustained...

Tell me, this being the 16th of the month, do you bill pro-rata till the end of the month for me to be able to test?

Do I need to give a month's notice or is it canceled with immediate affect?

Will your billing systems handle the influx of clients or are we going to have several "teething" problems re: this?

What payment options are there? I'd like to use my credit card for the first month to check it out and if it's not for me just cancel...

They only have debit order for now, as far as i can tell.

Well I went the debit order route, faxed them my agreement letter, but havent recieved any emails / activiations from them yet, also phoned to confirm that they recieved my agreement form, they have, just gotta wait it out it seems.

If Telkom bumps up your speed you need to actively upgreade your connection with us. We cannot and will not automatically change your contract with us

A months written(faxed) cancellation notice is required

The reason that we are only taking debit orders is that we have automated the process to reduce human admin intervention and prevent problmes and reduce admin costs

Can anyone else subscribe?
