I dont know when the screamer mail server became so slow, but our business relies on email being delivered when you press send. So I dont use screamers smtp server. I route all smtp through a cellular provider. Currently MTN.

On the brighter side, I got a call from Anina at Screamer this morning - they're going to send some techies around to my place on Monday.

Fingers crossed.
 
Well, Screamer techies were here on time, took about an hour to install a grid on my roof.

So far, so good. The speed is definitely better.

If it is anything like mine, it should be alot better. As Shark posted, run a speedtest and see
 
Once again, Screamer is offline and I have to take a guess that it's the backhaul.. My router is connected, I can ping the gateway IP but alas no Internet... SCREW you Screamer!

Yeah, got that yesterday as well, from about the time you posted.

Very frustrating, as they don't SMS us the way they used to, so no way of knowing what the fark's going on.

But we were back up in under half an hour - how about you?
 
Downloads speeds are a joke, my 56k modem can do better.

Browsing the screamer website, I see:
WIFI

and

WIMAX
Equipment/CPE WiMAX: R2,999.00 once-off


I have now been moved to wifi...... so can I get the difference refunded????
