Screamer WiMax

Hi Shearder
There is cover in President park. We have just "upgraded" our website and there are still some teething problems. Thanks for the commentary.

Hi howsit - thanks for the reply. That is good. I guess the only issue i have now is the high "rental" and the equipment does not become mine if i shell out R2500+

I am stuck between a rock and a hard place and unfortunately I do not have many choices. It is 3G or Screamer it seems. However, with that in mind - is there a way i can use an ISP of my choice as would have been the case using Telkom? I can then get 2GB int. data and 28GB local. Is that at all possible? I have used 3G for the last 3 years and if i sit and work out the costs I would probably have a heart attack - no lies!! I am trying to move to something MORE cost effective and something i don't have to sit and weigh up the pros and cons of downloading something I want or even windows updates!!

Hi Shearder

I suggest you have a look at our bundled options because they work out to a lot cheaper than anything else on the market.

Unfortunately you cant take a connection with us and get broadband elsewhere because our broadband packages combine the connection fees and broadband caps. If you compare our rates to an ADSL line from Telkom plus a broadband package from another supplier we are still very competitive.
We really differentiate ourselves on service so although our pricing is competitive our service levels are very high.

OK I guess i should call BUT perhaps my messages/posts will help someone else in the same situation. The costs quoted for example a 3GB bundle - does it include the rental of R210? If so i will do it yesterday. Thanks again howsit. Is it 12c/MB out of bundel or 6c/MB out of bundle - as per your front page?

Hi All

Please note that the network will be switched off for about 15 mins tomorrow morning somewhere between 04h00 and 05h00 for maintenance.

Thanks

The whole thing?
Thats a bit drastic...

Or, are you turning off all your 2.5Ghz equipment to try prove to Sentech that you're not the source of interference? :)

Pure speculation... ofcourse

Prior to the recent mass of network issues, for how long was screamer's network rock solid stable?

I only ask, as I almost purchased the product, but opted to install 384k adsl (which has been rock solid).

as of 7am this morning my connection be 100%.
even connected to my office via vpn connection ..

no drops timeouts..

hmm all your connections belong to me now :D

Heya Howzit

Last night we had the usual loss of iBurst and I decided to shop around.
According to the screamer.co.za site I must contact screamer to verify coverage.
The email that the site points to is coverage at screamer dot co dot za.
I happily sent a mail to that address, but received "Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender" email from your daemon stating
"550 sorry, no mailbox here by that name."

Seems like someone at screamer is slacking a bit on maintenance :D

Should I sent you a PM or just contact the help desk?

Oh well - i had guys come and do a LOS or signal test for WiMAX and WiFi and neither had signal. SO i got no Screamer and some thatching i now need to repair *sigh* does it get better?? who knows...

Hi

To all our gamers and late night owls

Please note that we will be conducting emergency repairs with Neotel on their pipe to us between 02h00 and 05h00 on Thursday morning which will result in a disconnection during this time.

Thanks

My current stats - I know you are waiting for Neotel to correct the problem but what is the eta as the network is not usable for anything beyond browsing?
