I had a very good night of raiding, hardly any latency and no disconnects :)
 
well i popped in by my flat earlier and guess what, still no i-net........well done screamer!
 
I have been playing Dragon Age that doesn't require an internet connection *** pure bliss ***.

Except I have to put up with my family being upset that "Screamer is down again"

Well it seems to be up again since about 11h30 according to my Meraki dashboard

I checked and my CPE is definitely still on the roof and pointing the same direction... wasn't quite sure after the hurricane last night

had another good night of raiding last night.
managed to take down 3rd boss in icc :)
have not botherd trying to download anythig so not sure how good DL speeds are atm.

on another note.
Dragon Age is frikking sweet game.
i think i have a total of about 8hrs gametime sofar..
heard it has about 100hrs of gamae play :s
 
Darksun, what is your ping like while raiding and is it stable?
 
last night i was hoveing between 450 and 600ms.
times i raid are about 9pm till about 12 / 1am.

Before I start let me mention im a serious amature guys so please be a tad understanding here....

Just install Screamer Wimax 384k Uncapped.

1.Are the download speeds at only 40kbs normal on this line??? and does this have anything to so wiht my distance from the tower???
2.Would i be getting faster download speeds if I switched to wire and rented the line from telkom??
 
Tonight is complete disaster lagging like hell on Hop 2 onwards

Why in gods name didn't I just get iBurst or something...
 
My connection was really bad up to 11:00, then it was ok.

The theoretical maximum of a 384kbit line is 48Kbyte per second. Due to IP overheads you will never achieve this, 40Kbps is the norm for 384. Due to 384 being a relatively small connection distance to the tower will not have a huge impact.

Being on copper will not improve your download speeds in the slightest, you may get slightly better latency.
 
Screamer please sort your issues out, once again for the millionth time your network goes screwed @ 11pm onwards

EDIT: I'm not showing you a pretty little diagram i have used to see it is your network, please actually bother to do something about this and run your own tests to confirm. I am really surprised a law suite of some kind hasnt shut you guys down yet.

Whole weekend been a complete disaster. I am cancelling my account this week. They not answering my calls, or phoning me back or even answering my emails. I sent numerious mails to both neels and desmond without reply. Howzit even said neels would phone me, I am still waiting.

I think you are both on the same Base Station that we noticed had become over contended last week and so upgraded it over the weekend and your connections should be back to normal. Please PM me if they are not.

@Ciruis
I am not sure if you are also on the affected tower but if your connection hasn't improved as well please PM me your account no and I will get a techie to contact you.

Just wanted to ask and i'm sure many other people would also like to know the status on the bandwidth upgrade?

We have already done a bandwidth upgrade and have another scheduled for the end of the month. If you are not getting a good connection please PM me your account no or login and I will have it checked.
 
Thank you "Howzit" for your reply. I did notice issues again last night, i would like to confirm this again tonight (should it happen). I generally don't like dragging out techie's for any arb reason. I will monitor it again tonight and revert back to you.
 
Tech came out yesterday and found my signal and connection to tower was very good, but they saw I was getting lots of timeouts and huge latency, its was just too unstable. One minute you could browse, next minute it would just sit there trying to get to a webg page. Howzit do you have feedback for me on this site visit. Its now 6 days with this crap problems.
