Oh so Seacom is still down, because my internet connection has been worse than dial up these past 2 weeks and especially the last 3 days.

There is something wrong with your connection because most of our clients have had near normal speeds while Seacom was down. If you have any open tickets please PM the numbers to me so I can follow up.

Hi

I have asked a technician to contact you and check your connection. I notice that you only have a 256k connection contract with us, so would suggest that, if you want a faster speed that you upgrade your contract. I also see that on this 256k line you have downloaded 50Gigs this month with a week still to go which, in my experience, is not bad going at all.

LOL thanks howzit, but Im a network engineer myself and I know that I have a 256kbps at home. I should be getting about 30-32KB/s which is more than enough for my needs now. The thing is sometimes I cant open anything at all not even a website. I have not downloaded 50GB this month haha I wish, its more like 20GB, the other 14GB is uploads. At the times that it is working I've noticed that in 24hours I can download about 2GB with the 256k line. Thats 2GB per day so I should actually be standing on 52GB for the month so far for downloads ONLY and not uploads included. During the day its the most crap of all times, it went pretty well this morning for about an hour or two and I was really getting excited but then it dropped straight down again, you can actually see it dropping on the statistics graph. I did send a mail now with a screenshot, have a look and let me know.
The downloads doesnt bother me that much, if it can run normal speed only during the night I'll be happy, but during the day or over the weekend I can sometimes not even open a website or do basic stuff.

howzit, is there any chance the signal to Glen Austin Ext. 1, Midrand could be boosted? The technician said there have been several houses in the area that have applied for Screamer, and we desperately need some form of connectivity as we've been without phones or internet for the past four months.

I'm sure you would have mentioned it if so, but did anything positive come from this? There's apparently only one hill causing the problem and you'd likely get a lot of customers from this area!
 
How were people's latencies last night. Was getting about 100ms-200ms (500ms-600ms when using battleping ) more to the European WOW servers

I had 2 major timeouts last night, were I couldn't do anything for several minutes. Its messing with my Starcraft 2 download. Could you look into the reason please? I did not have this the night before.

Hi
Do you mean 1000ms - 2000ms because 100ms - 300ms is normal?
We have asked some of our other WOW clients and they haven't seen a degradation.

Sorry , remove the () and it makes more sense
Normally if I raid with battleping I get about 250ms -300ms. Last night I was on about 600ms spiking up. Without battleping I was over 1000ms

Just to confirm that someone ( name removed to protect the innocent ) has phoned me, sounds like he knows what he is doing and has found something to ask seacom about.

@howzit - Does your company cover the Boksburg South Proper area?

I have looked at your coverage map and I see that your cover Boksburg North which is less than 1km from my suburb.

I've just checked the Screamer coverage listings for Tierpoort, which is about 20km south of Woodhill along Garsfontein Road. Garsfontein is listed, so do you perhaps know if that area is covered?
 
Hi all, Just joined MyBB after years of reading it to sort out my computer problems - which are mainly caused by pure stupidity on my part, and sometimes Mr Rich at microsoft.
I applied for screamer yesterday, hopefully it will be a lot better and cheaper than connectimg through my cell phone.
