Hey guys

Major balls up with Telkom moving my line and account to my new address (no infrastructure even after telling me originially there was)

I have requested Bitco to come have a look and see if that can work at my place (however I have a boatload of trees surrounding my perimeter and I am not exactly optimistic that I will get LOS despite being in great coverage.

If all else fails, how is LTE for gaming?

I'm in the same area as you and I currently use LTE. LTE has its ups and downs. When it works it works great. It gets expensive with the caps though. I'm thinking of switching over to Bitco. We've also got huge trees next to our complex so I don't know how that will affect things.

Bitco is awesome! For your sake I hope you have LOS. Mine was activated earlier this week. Check out my speed tests here: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/649318-Bitco-5Mbs-Speed-Tests

I am more than willing to destroy a whole lot of agriculture just to get this internet working. So hopefully when BitCo come out they will tell me what I need to cut down or cut away.

Is it possible to speed up the ETA for them to come for a site visit? 3 weeks is just too long :(

Send the installation co-ordinator some flowers :D

k...well Bitco came out....and told my wife something like they will have to call me back.

I take it this isnt good news?

So...potentially no Bitco, definitely no Telkom (not enough infrastructure) so where to from here for gaming and streaming?

MTN LTE?
Neotel Lite LTE?

Any help would be great.

and to be honest, I really would do anything to get Bitco in....anything short of Napalming my area.

Sorry to hear dude. If it's an LOS issue try requesting an extended dish. This could be a 6 to 8 meter pole with stabalizing stays to keep it still. If you in a complex this may be an issue. Hopefully, they didnt have an extended pole with them and need to come back to complete the install.....holding thumbs on your behalf!

Bitco is a no go :(

Apparently I live in the depths of Tree Hell.

No LOS.

No Telkom.

LTE is my last option.....thoughts on LTE for gaming? and best provider?

Hi CliffB,

Really sorry that we couldn't be of assistance, it’s always a challenge providing services in the biggest man made Forrest in the world...:-)

unfortunately i haven't had much experience with LTE but i'm sure some of the other members in this forum can share their experience with you

Mike

I would honestly try MTN LTE. Speeds are great, and the stability is great on the games I play (Black Ops 2, DayZ, Counter Strike). So yeah, go for it.
