This is like trying to stuff smoke up a duck's backside with a pencil.

I'm getting pee'd off about it.

It takes three days just to find out what's wrong?

:D

Did their staff work at the McDonald's before they were employed by Seacom?

the cable is 4.7 kilometers beneath the water surface ? I had no idea they ran that deep o.O

eeesh ... how many robotic subs available to go to 4+km deep?? hmmm... popcorn anyone?

/wonders if BP is using them all ??

Why did the "technical team" not go out on this "specialised repair ship" including the "required robotics" in the first place  :wtf:

Did they not think they might need this once they  find the fault

Maybe its more cost effective to FIND the location of the fault first and then bring in the technical repair crew rather than just having them sit and twiddle their thumbs?

Yes its frustrating that its taken this long, but repeaters are not things that fail on a regular basis from what I know so I can accept a week long repair schedule... ESP since the cable is 4.7kms down.... thats not exactly something you just reach out and pick up.

I am constantly amazed at how people who have no idea of how difficult it is to fix or diagnose something deeply (excuse the pun) technical and immensely complicated moan and squeal. "Yah! you know, those blerry okes must just somma fix the blinkin interwebs - I paid my 20 bucks and I don't care that the break is 4.7 km deep in the middle of the bloody ocean...."

These are probably the same people who haven't fixed the creaky door or bust light bulb that their wives have been moaning about for a year.

aaaaarghh....and I promised myself I would not feed the trolls.

Really what we need is for the additional cables to come online and reduce our reliance on SEACOM only.

lol +1

i was under the impression that the "ship/ships" have already set sail in previous update reports... hmm...... more lies?? anway...

I wonder if they will be recording this on video, how they are going to find the cable 4.7km with the "robots" under the water and then the repair work which will take place on the ship... should be quiet interesting

Me wants free bandwiths for not having bandwiths this week:D
