If you have to raise your voice in a gathering there are too many people, louder voices in crowded areas means a fine mist of spit everywhere, loud music does the same. Combine loud music with a crowd and everyone is infecting everyone around them.

And singing, like in church?
 
There is businesses that spike over these times making up for some that slows down.

if they make the travel ban again they will piss off people that has now booked.

why are they worried? We should just all spend time in an airplane it eats covid.( sc)

Wales just went into stupid lockdown as well, can't buy cards, or books or anything only essentials as well.
 
Another hard lockdown would completely ruin the SA economy and everyone knows it. I don't understand why people find it so damn hard to just wear masks and keep their distance! I went to the Doc on Friday, routine prescription write-ups for the family, and he said the amount of people coming in with the Flu or sniffles was significantly lower than previous years - at least in his practice. Just wear your damn masks and try to not go crazy with parties and things will go better.

December/January is prime domestic tourism season. Hard lockdown will likely see the banning of inter-provincial travel again. Coastal towns rely on inlanders making their annual migrations. They already lost out on the Easter and June/July school holidays.

Most retailers also rely heavily on the December spending period. If we go in to lockdown, nobody is spending money. A lot of people won't be receiving 13th cheques as it is because of the impact the first lockdown had on the economy, so its already going to be a tough December for many.

I know a lot of people in the entertainment industry (DJs, singers, bands, sound engineers) and they are now finally starting to get some work again and the summer months are historically their busiest times as there are a lot of festivals and events.

It is the same at my wife's school So far since they started back there have been 5 teachers, one secretary and I don't know how many students with Covid. Luckily no one has died. Two weeks ago my wife and I had a horrible flu but we got tested and it came back negative but for a few days we were terrified that it was our turn on the big Covid wheel.

People aren't wearing masks. I drive through Germiston every weekday morning and afternoon to take my son back and forth to school and there are tons of people walking around and riding in taxis without their masks.
People just don't get it. Uncle told us that if we do not follow the rules then we will go back into a harsher lockdown. The government doesn't care about going back into lockdown because they made bank while in lockdown.

I don't want my family to get Covid. I don't want to get Covid but I am basically at the point where my family can't do another lockdown. If we go into another lockdown it will destroy what work we have done to get us out of the economic hole from the previous lockdown.

My father-in-law's business folded, my brother-in-law is only getting around 60% of his normal salary so my wife and I are supporting a whole other family besides our family. We just can't do another lockdown.

It's not just SA. Get off that line, however tempting it is.

The whole world is on its own pluck and self imposed trajectories.
No cohesion or standard by world leaders or individual countries.

Czech, UK, France just to mention a few and now Spain are going back into a form of "hard" lockdown

Or everyone with flu and sniffles are too scared to go to the doc incase their told its the covid ;)

PS that said I do agree people should wear their masks it does help, also social distance! and stop this taxis can be at 100% capacity, that isnt social distancing.

The vast majority of the lockdown (if they have one) will be between Christmas and New Year. I get the logic behind it as there's several mass religious gathering during this period.

That can be done with 10 day lockdown but I expect the ANC looking at a 14day minimum for the next lockdown.

That was the reason but would you expect anything less from the pompous cANCer except failure. Yet they will strut around like a proud cock and carry on about how great they are. We are led by a joke of a political party.
 
Mr president if you and your thieves push another hard lockdown. I will not obey it. We need to work, the time for sitting on our hands is up. People need income to stay alive. We can't rely on an incompetent government to put food on the table. The cost clock wasn't stopped during lockdown.
 
None of the current metrics (positivity rate, hospital usage) etc. justify a hardening of the lockdown...but the ANC don't really care about that.

However, there will be far more anger this time around than in March/April I suspect.

To be fair, the article doesn't actually mention anything about a hard lockdown - just that Cyril will address the nation. I remember during level 4 or 3, he came on TV once and basically said nothing. So there's always that.
