Played another round this morning and I can honestly say the lessons have been worth it. Not one ball lost maybe 2 bad shots. Had an absolute blast. If anything I know I need to focus on my short game. But that's fine I'm about 2 months in now.

You wrong Dude.
If you have the wrong shaft and head from the start you'll basically never get to where you want to be.
If you swing like a gorilla and don't have stiff shafts you'll basically never hit the ball correctly.
2 Months in I can finally say the set up and swing is doing well. The reciprocal is true as well, you can have the right shafts and clubs and a terrible swing and you will also never hit well.
I would probably say a player who understands their swing and has had lessons would do better than someone with well fitted clubs and no lessons.
Many people swing like gorillas in the beginning anyway, I would always invest in lessons, learn how to swing and then spend the cash on fitting and clubs over the other way round first.
Only 2 months in and you already play rounds with only 2 bad shots in it. I am 25 years in and I average around 2 GOOD shots per round...Played another round this morning and I can honestly say the lessons have been worth it. Not one ball lost maybe 2 bad shots. Haha maybe our definition of bad shots differ but I only think I had two fat shots, the rest I was decently happy with obviously always room for improvement - I can now already see I need to shift my focus to the short game.Only 2 months in and you already play rounds with only 2 bad shots in it. Yeah I use the Garmin Vivoactive 5 watch for distances and its battery lasts like a week. Which course is that? You in Centurion, right? Wingate is my fav - 205 bucks for a round on LastMinuteGolf. Best deal out there for a well looked-after course.Haha maybe our definition of bad shots differ but I only think I had two fat shots, the rest I was decently happy with obviously always room for improvement - I can now already see I need to shift my focus to the short game.
Wont lie absolutely loving having the garmin with for distance to the pin - makes a world of difference.
The driver traveled beautifully - one of my fav shots of the day

ABS love the stats and seeing how the holes played out.

Goal for next 18 holes is to break 100 and next round of focus is gonna shift to seriously focusing on chipping/putting.
This was kimiad. Not the best course but somewhere I could play with less time available. Don't think anyone does 9 holes on a sat. Planning on paying Waterkloof later this month.Yeah I use the Garmin Vivoactive 5 watch for distances and its battery lasts like a week. Which course is that? You in Centurion, right? The full 18 holes on Saturday seem disproportionately pricey to the rest of the week but I guess supply and demand. Def a beautiful course. Wanna try get 9 hole in there during the week thoWingate is a nice course. That's my hole in one course.
IndeedLove playing at altitude ball travels so far.

Makes sense - thankfully we are spoiled for choice this side and if you willing to drive a little also no issues thenThe problem is in SA Saturdays are reserved for members, so its hard to find a tee time and its the most sort after.
if you can get on during the week its a bonus.

Is this a mashie course?
yeah also on the to play list and close byI mostly golf in Johannesburg when I am in town, But I know Irene sometimes has spots on a weekend, It is a nice course.
I played George yesterday, and honestly, with 35+ years of golfing, I hit no more than about 20 'Good' shots in the round, being shots that went exactly as planned and imagined. The rest were at best approximations of the right/good shots and there were at least 4 total f_ups. It is a humbling game. Even the pros do not hit all 'good' shots in a round.Only 2 months in and you already play rounds with only 2 bad shots in it. I am 25 years in and I average around 2 GOOD shots per round...

Some of the better courses in and around gauteng, 2 x sunday games per month, 1 x thursday game per month, you play as much as you want.
