So the people responsible for maintaining my block of flats thought it would be a good idea to rip off our DSTV dishes and place a big communal dish on the roof. 4 months and a stolen DSTV dish later, I am still receiving only 20% of my channels at most. I have brought this up numerous times with the management and they simply don't care. I wrote a Hellopeter complaint on Thursday and they replied today with just a "We will look into it".

I would like to know if there are any further steps I could take in resolving this issue? I have a feeling I am going to wait a long time for them to resolve this! Just want to make a fire under them :)

Where is this? Name of the complex? You can send me a personal mail if you want... I'll see if I can do something.

I cannot help you very much, but if money is a problem your managing agents are screwing you. The insurance on our sectional title building includes permanent fixtures, so a communal DSTV dish should be covered.

Good luck getting it sorted, there is not much you can do about useless trustees (except vote them out at the next AGM, if possible)

This is definitely not the best advice I could give you, but it would certainly be the most frustration-free option with the fastest solution:

Move :(

Err... did they just take the dish you paid for without communication or permission?

I'd go lay a charge of theft and damage to property at the police station.
