senetic.co.za

Thanks - I just placed a small test order for 2 x ubiquiti unifi lite APs. Will let you know how the order goes - ETA Thur 28 Feb from order placed Monday 25 Feb.

I am sure it will be fine. They typically send you a DHL tracking number a day or so later.

Sent them a query via their pop-up and received a response from their Nigerian office. Not to be judgemental, but this makes me worry considering that payment is upfront. Think I will buy local as the R800.00 extra on a bunch of Ubiquiti kit is worth the peace of mind.

Do you know of any online retailer that doesn't require upfront payment? ;-)

haha I feel your dilema though - EFTing a company with no physical presence in the country, a Nigerian African office and a Polish headquarters (I have heard likeness to it being the Nigeria of the EU) sounds like a scam.

However, my experience has been great thus far:
I paid for an order on Monday which was immediately acknowledged. Received a tracking number the following day. Shipment arrived in South Africa last night and was supposed to be delivered today but DHL messed up the delivery :cautious: They have rescheduled the delivery for tomorrow so the final verdict remains as to if my goods are indeed in the package. Will post tomorrow with an update.

I honestly don’t think you have anything to worry about.

Order arrived well bubble wrapped and packaged - everything is working perfectly :)

2x Ubiquiti AP Lites
1x Ubiquiti cloud key.

Senetic has earned my trust - now for the big order :P

Thanks Duan for the heads up and initial confidence :)

Ordered the following items from them:
  • Ubiquiti UniFi UAP AC LR
  • SUPERMICRO 3.5i to 2.5i HDD tray
  • SUPERMICRO CPU Heat Sink SNK-P0047PSC
  • MBD-X10DRW-i-O SUPERMICRO Server board MBD-X10DRW-i-O BOX
The reason I bought from them was the difficulty getting the narrow heat sink.
The shipping was R 2,198.50. Even with high shipping it was a good deal
Everything arrived packaged and bubble wrapped. A rep even phoned to confirm that I understood that the motherboard only fits in a specific chassis.
Overall I'm very happy. My only concern would be a return of faulty goods.

I normally use scoop.co.za for Unifi products - they tend to have high stock levels - but whenever they do not have stock I order from Senetic.

They ship from Poland using DHL. Shipping costs are high-ish, but the stock will reach you in 2-3 days and you don't have to pay import duties, all of that is taken care of by Senetic. As far as SARS is concerned this is a local purchase between yourself and Senetic.

I can vouch for them.

Quite high indeed. I stumble upon them once a year and then the shipping kills it for me.
I guess it all depends on how urgent your order is. It is good to know there is an alternative when local vendors are out of stock.

Just a quick review,
I've used senetic last week to purchase some ubiquiti gear, of a substantial value, and items were delivered promptly as per the websites expected delivery.
Once dispatched, extremely fast shipping with DHL express.
"Emmanuel Bobmanuel" is the South African rep, was quick to answer and questions, change of order and the like.
They processed a return on an item I wanted to change as well.
All in all seems like they deal in a professional manner, with good service all round.

Are customs fees also included in the price on their website?

The custom fees are included in the shipping costs when you click "calculate shipping" and put in the details. No other charges are involved. If you have a hassle just give them a call, I had a really positive experience

I wanted to add my 2 cents here, I found the Ryzen 5 for 20% cheaper than PC int or Evetech (with shipping incl) and at the time no one had stock locally. At a discount like that I'm prepared to wait for parts so I placed my order. Everything was going great until DHL reported it was delivered to the wrong suburb. One call to Senetic and Emmanuel found out that DHL crossed their tracking numbers and misplaced the CPU. one day later they still had not found it so Senetic shipped a new one to me immediately, no fuss, no questions. So it took some time, but I received very professional service from them and got the product as advertised.

I'm also keen to buy from them, the prices seem very low though. Like R2k cheaper for a Unifi switch - for the price of a 16 port locally I can get a 24 port from them.

Seems almost too good to be true.

I just placed an order with them now. Will update next week.

Oh, yeah I ordered the UniFi 24 port 250W switch - which is 2k cheaper than anywhere else locally, excluding delivering.

I was going to get the USW-16-POE which is R7600 at scoop.
With Senetic with USW-24-POE is R7 800 + R500 delivery = R8 300

Added a few other items and the delivery stayed at R500, so that delivery cost per unit will make an order even more worthwhile.
