I'm new here...but i've been reading lots of posts.

...just a quick question as i see no recent posts about p2p and sentech:

What's up with sentech and p2p downloads? I mean it was fine, but then sometime near the end of february it just went dead for a while, then a lil up...Now it's dead again... Normal http downloads fly at near 95% percent max line speed... But p2p = you guessed it! 0 to 0.001%, lol... Torrent is a little better, even with the encryption and port change it still never goes above 1KB/s(exactly 1, very dubious!)... Seriously, i'm going crazy here... I'm sick of the helpdesk guys telling me "but sir, ya know it's third party software and we cannot provide support for it. Such software is free and is very buggy, blah blah blah" ...come on!!

Even if no one knows the answer, it'd still be nice to have a convo bout this crap... :)

well donwload off the internet.. tons of warez sites and uploading sites just waiting for you to dl tons off them. At HTTP speeds.

Not quite as handy as p2p, but more reliable and faster.

I mean what you are doing is illegal already right.. so might as well do it off the net?

lol, i tried those before... They're too much of a pain!

...besides, i could be using p2p for totally legal purposes!! I might have a subscription to download music... Sentech doesnt know what i'm doing!

Lol...i moved to this country being all excited bout finally being able to have a proper connection...only to find out it's not that much better at all!! ...maybe worse? hehehe... Final decision, i'm moving to europe or usa as soon as possible!! ...Sigh, that'll have to wait a few years...

No problems this side.Check my stats at http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=42651&page=2

I'm using DC++ and eMule

np

Hi, i have no problems using utorrent, just finished a music video at 11kbyte/s average... but, guess what, the faster peer, was in South Africa (LOL).
international, well, i got to around 3-6kbyte/s average. It still beats the dial-up modem.

PS: Everything is legal until u get caught.

cheers,
AS

My torrents and P2P run at about 110% of my line speed. I get 30Kb/sec ave and 38Kb/sec max on Bitcommet. Remember, some seeders are slower than other, I usually have about 3 downloads running at the same time. One alone rarely maxes at top speed. saDC++ is also fine, but looks like that almost died out completely (about 15 ppl still on there, or am i looking at the wrong server???)

...wait hold on, i'm assuming here that NoWire forms part of sentech? it's a reseller, it should be exactly the same as sentech, right? ...cause i got noWire, and i do have very bad p2p! i'm using shareaza, edonkey and azureus...

...it shouldn't have to be like this! i mean, i spend so much time trying to "tweak" the settings to try find something that works...And guess what, when it does work it's just out of the blue, nothing to do with my settings!! Drives me totally insane!! Lol... :)

Im also with them. No problems on my side either. Try changing your port

Hmmm... I feel really daft now!! :(
eMule seems to work nicely with this connection!! Much different then from when i tried it before! ...It's been going for a smooth 10-12KB for the past 4 hours...SO, i reckon it should work nicely!

...the cherry on top: I imported all my previous incomplete downloads (best part of eMule,i reckon! :) )

i got the 128 package... im getting the 256 next month :)

...another quick question: Has anyone here EVER run out of things to download? :)
