Seremane to lead DA

He was a teacher,

He has several Civic Organisations in advocacy

He was Director of Justice and Reconciliation for the South African Council of Churches

and Chairperson of the DA,

Surely he has to have some administrative experiance?

Tassidar, I want to make it clear that this is not in response to you.

I believe that the greatest impediment to his candidacy is that those who can possibly vote for him will have an unintentional and unconscious bias against him, regardless of his merits and experiance, just because they do not want to vote just on the basis of race, even if it is clear that there is merit in his nomination.

Hi Rooinek. You raise some good points there.

Firstly, yes I acknowledge I sure he does have good administrative experience. I should have checked his CV.

Let's hope that your second point isn't true, as we really need a multi-racial opposition. However, I fear that this country is likely to remain racially polarised for a long time still.

Unlike the ANC, for example, who would never have Trevor Manuel as President because he is the wrong colour.

You rather obviously don't seem know that Trevor Manual sits on the National Executive Commitee of the ANC which is their top decision making body which gets elected by popular vote at every the ANC National Conference where all the regions meet.

The last time I checked he was in the top 10 voted in above people like Winnie Mandela also amongst an Indian and even a whitey even if he is a commie :).

ANC do not choose leaders based on their skin colour.

May I quote your president?

"Our biggest problem is the lack of skills"

Is that because the ANC doesn't apoint leaders based on skin colour?

You missed my point again. We should add a score on your user CP for point missing
So you agree that he is working under a glass ceiling or not in that he can NEVER be El Presidente? (I hope u don't hedge this question AS WELL!)

Watch what happens to Ebrahim Rasool when the 'Africanists' push him out for siding with the coloured community.

Ja. remember when they gave all the senior white teachers the option of voluntary retirement with packages. Now Pandor is whining that they don't have enough Maths and Science teachers so they are going to recruit from Zimbabwe if they can. If they can't get enough, they will offer generous bursaries to BEE AA people.

This isn't joined-up thinking is it!

Those voluntary severence packages were offered to everybody not just white teachers:mad: Talking bullsh*t seems to be your speciality.

If Manuel was to be voted to the top of the nominations list, the current ANC policy would have him as President. I would appreciate it if the people who contend otherwise could point to ANC policy or members who have stated that Manuel will never be President.

Manuel won't be president - not because of policy or anything but the mere fact that he does not want to be president

I think Manuel has actually only ever said he will serve in whatever way the ANC wants him to serve.

EDIT: OK, I've seen an article which states that he said he wouldn't want the job.

No, that's almost verbatim Zuma. Manuel said he values time with his sons (or something like that) too much.

Such naivety I've not seen in a long while:rolleyes:

Sure, let him tell everyone he wants to be El Presidente and see how long he stays in the cabinet.

Come on Bag.

How many white personnel in the civil service?

70 Colonels "requested" to leave the army. All white with 30-40 years experience each. To be replaced by previous disadvantaged with 12 years AA training.

Not 12 years ago. October 2006.

Skills shortage?

Who is talking what specialities now?

So if you have a black teacher with a 5 year experience package and a white one with 10 years package ($$$), which one is more likely to volunteer for ethnic cleansing. You see it now??

I should bloody well hope that he would be above the likes of a murdering, theiving witch such as herself.

Those are the words of simpleton. Speak English.

Hmm I seriously doubt you can justify these claims. By the time the leader of the ANC is going to be white, hell would've froze over twice. But seriously spare me that anyway. We have enough riots in this country already.
